Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Well today would have been Henrys 20th birthday. The two years since he passed seem to have gone so quickly. I miss him every day and there seems to be a huge hole in my life. He filled my life with art, music and laughter...he was and always will be my treasure. I know he loved the fact that I blogged..so I continue to do so to honour him.

I did have to smile this morning when the first thing that I saw on the news was that storm Henry was passing through Wales. He loved the wild weather..so it feels right somehow that the wind is raging through the valley. All the cats have decided to stop in and are scattered around the parlour. I'm hoping to do some sewing today..now the parlour has been moved round. I will share what I've made with you after.

Well the coffee is calling and then I'm going to cut some patchwork out. Goodness only knows what the kittens will make of the sewing machine. We shall have to see. I've already decided to make liver and onions for dinner. With mashed potatoes, green beans and onion gravy. Pudding is already made..gooseberry crumble and there's custard to go with it. At least I feel a little organised..lol. So until next time..take care and happy crafting
