Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. JB-Crafting Supplies....One flower Stamp

Todays cards are all design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. All these three cards have been made with the same stamp..the only difference is the colouring medium that I have used. Cards 1 and 3 have both been watercoloured and card 2 was coloured with my promarkers. Just to show really the difference that your colouring medium can make. I used kraft card as the background, as it seems to be so popular. The only thing that I've got left to do is to finally make the decision between a red gingham or red dotty for cards 1 and 2 and from a selection of blues for card 3. Sometimes I just can't decide and have to look at them for a week or so..lol.

All my cats have left home because the weather is dry. I tell them all the time to make the most of it because winter will be here before we know it and then you won't be able to see the couch for furry bodies. What makes me laugh is the way in which all the cats decide on their own place and goodness help anyone who sits in it..and that goes for humans as well..lol. I have cat beds which they all turn their noses up at..yet get a cardboard box and there is chaos as everyone fights over it. They have lots of fleeces which they ignore until I use one to cover my legs and then they fight over sitting on it.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be back to painting. I'm waiting for some deliveries but I think that they won't be here until Thursday. I've ordered a steam cleaner...yes I know that I may have lost my mind but I have an urge to steam clean everywhere. I'm hoping that once I've done it the urge will leave me for a while..lol. See what happens when you begin to tidy up..you get strange ideas. I really want to do all my kitchen cupboards and my bathroom. It's the paw prints that are driving me mad. How on earth I've managed to get paw prints in some of the places I have..well they're going to be steam blasted off..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies..The Loo Roll Book..number 2

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I have never had as many messages about a creation before and have done a step by step guide on how to make your own book. It is on the JB-Crafting Supplies blog..I hope that you will pop over and take a look. I decided to make a quotes book this time because I'm forever collecting them and it will be nice to have a place to keep them. If you have any crafting needs or wants, then please pop over to the JB-Crafting facebook page and speak to Julie.

As I'm sat here, the mist has fallen down the mountains and I can't see a thing. It's time like these that I often say that we are back in Brigadoon...lol. The rain has finally stopped for the moment but no doubt there will more arriving shortly. I'm also sat here armed with my largest paint brush. Simon is on his way back with a present for me and I don't want it coming in the window..lol. I keep my largest paintbrush right by me as a cat and present deterrent..lol.The only trouble is that he is so proud of himself when he brings me a present and just can't understand why I'm not delighted.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be down to some more work. I managed to find my dressing table last night..I'm intending to polish it tonight..I can't believe that I'm quite looking forward to it. The dressing table has had to be cat resisted. They were constantly knocking everything off and I had come to the end of my tether...so now it's all been fixed. I've even decided what is for dinner tonight..we're having steak pie with roast potatoes and carrots. So every thing is organised..or very nearly which is amazing for me. My first job though after my caffeine hit is to ring BT and have a complain..I'm not expecting anything good to come of it but I live in hope. So until next time..take care and happy crafting

JB-Crafting Supplies....The Loo Roll Book

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I have had so many messages about this little book that next week I shall be doing a step by step blog on the JB-Crafting Supplies blog page. This little tag book is made using empty loo roll cardboards as the tag holders. I saw it made on the tv and thought to myself what a brilliant idea. I liked the fact that it was a small book that you could decorate to save anything special. I have made this one to hold pictures of the kittens first year..I just have to add the photos. But you could make a little book to save some special memories..a birthday, a trip out some where..or even pictures of your garden through the year. So if you are one of the ladies that messaged me about this little book..please start collecting your empty cardboard rolls and I will do a step by step make next week. If you need any papers or embellishments, please pop over to Julie at JB-Crafting Supplies and she is bound to find what you either need or want.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and all the cats have deserted me for the sunshine..lol. Last night was my first night in my new bed, but I'm afraid that I have managed to upset the cats again. I made up my new bed with new bedding and I went to bed. Well Gannie arrived and goodness me did he have a complain. The new bed was in a different position and Gannie kept telling me about it and kept running to the original position as much to say Mum..you should be here. He kept on for about half an hour and then finally gave up and came and lay by me. It's a wonder that he had any voice left after yesterday..what with voicing about the builder and then about the bed..he said an awful lot. I find it funny that a lot of my cats are really vocal..people seem to find it really funny because they really make you know that they're telling you something. Gannie I have to say is getting a bit cheeky as well. Today he walked into Sparkles house as if he had the right..it's not enough that Jeffrey thinks that Sparkles garden is an extension of mine but Gannie walking in..the cheek of it..lol.I've just spotted Gannie..he is actually asleep in the shade on the studio roof.

I think today will just be a crafting day. After yesterday there isn't a spot that doesn't hurt. So legs are up and I've had to take some extra pills. When things hurt this much, I find myself shaking..so splints will be on very soon. I've got a lovely afternoon planned..Olympics on the tv and some painting..so hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to start on the kitchen..lots of moving round to do in readiness for the carpet and the other piece of lino to go down. Hopefully by September all will be done.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to get the paints out. My favourite dinner tonight..yet again..lol..plaice,new potatoes and salad. I hope that the weather is being kind to you wherever you are. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies.....Thinking Christmas

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. For this card and more, I have used this fantastic stamp set called the Nature Trail from Hobby Art, If you get the chance, please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog..I have created 3 more different cards, using the same stamp set and some more using other stamp sets from Hobby Art. I know it can seem strange to be thinking about Christmas cards now but I need to work out which ones I'm going to make and that can take me a while..lol I just love the fact that this set has a rabbit and an owl included in it and actually this is a stamp set that you can use all year round..I can imagine doing rolling green hills and flower meadows..how lovely for a summer card. Now I've had that thought I'm just going to have to make a summer card using this set..lol.I have a notebook which holds my thoughts relating to cards that I want to make...I have to write the ideas down or else I forget. It must be an age thing..lol. I can even head to the fridge and forget what I've gone for.

All the cats have deserted me today in disgust. They're sulking because there are only biscuits left and they will have to wait until my friends arrive with the cat food. The fact that they all had a huge breakfast and have biscuits to keep them going is immaterial to them..lol  It looks like they are in for a treat tonight..my friend has just arrived and they have Kitekat for supper..their favourite..featuring Trout. So if nothing else I will have happy cats..lol Since they have watched the cat food arrive they have been in and out like yo-yos. It even makes the delivery men laugh when they deliver my shopping..all the cats line up and watch it arriving..he says it's as if they count it all come in. I wouldn't mind if they were starving but you should see all the round and plump tummies. And we won't even mention Jeffrey..I don't think he eats..just inhales..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I'm off to finish a couple of projects. I do hope that if you have time that you will pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog and take a look at all the other cards. And of course if you need any crafting goodies..just ask Julie. I will be back tomorrow with some more design team makes..so until then..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies...It's all birds

Today's cards are all design team makes for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. The top two cards feature Daryl the quirky turkey brought to us crafters by the fantastic team over at Hobby Art. Both have been coloured with my promarkers. Every time I look at them, they make me smile. I would send either of these to my friends who are vegetarian..in fact I've already had orders using the one below..they loved the idea of a turkey with attitude. If you need anything for your crafting, please pop over to JB-Crafting Supplies and Julie will be able to source it for you..saying that she has lots of crafting goodies in stock.

My third card is also a stamp from Hobby Art. It's called Otto owl. I bought this stamp in memory of Henry and thought that I would make some Christmas cards with it,

The weather here in the mountains today is up and down..wet and dry. So the cats are in and out depending on the rain. At the moment the sun is trying to shine but goodness knows how long it will last. I'm sitting here feeling slightly sorry for myself. I feel as if I have a cartoon nose. It's throbbing and both my eyes are slightly swollen. The event that caused this was 2 and a half stone cat..named and shamed as Jeffrey..getting involved in an argument which resulted in him landing straight at my nose. The consequence was me having a nose bleed or should I say two. My nose was bleeding on the inside and he had managed to scratch the outside as well. I have had an headache ever since and still feel like I should have a cartoon nose..such does it throb..lol. Both my eyes are swollen and I look as if I have partied hard for quite a while. Ever since the accident happened, Jeffrey has been trying to make friends...I think that he's realised that he hurt me and keeps coming for a fuss. After the accident happened all the cats have been over to see me..lol..it was very busy in bed last night, with the tribe checking that I was getting enough fuss. So plans for the move round in the parlour have been changed until later on..by which time I will have all my tablets in my system and hopefully feel more like doing it.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've got some work to get on with. I will be back shortly with another design team make..so until then..take care and happy crafting

JB Crafting Supplies.....Where a thought can take you

Todays creations are all design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. Yesterday I decided to make a mixed media piece but got carried away and ended up making four finished projects and a large one which is till a work in progress. The first two makes today are 2 small canvasses that I had painted with my acrylics. I added three layered flowers and used a black peeloffs as stems. I finally stamped a different sentiment on both.

Now the two cards below came about totally by accident. I had painted my flowers using my H2Os, using another piece of paper to keep things tidy. When I had finished painting...I looked at the waste paper and loved the way in which the colours had mixed..so I decided to use it. I used one of my flower stamps and stamped the image onto the waste paper. I then cut them out and created two cards using these flowers.

The weather here in the mountains today is wonderful. Yesterday because it was raining I had a lot of cat help with my painting. Hence one of my armchairs is now covered with multi coloured paw prints..lol. I have to say it has created a wonderful pattern..I shall try and take a photo so that you can see..lol. Today because I'm not painting..all the cats are outside sunning themselves. Nosey is the only one that has remained and he is on the shelves, curled up asleep. The catnip biscuits that arrived in the house last week have had to be hidden in a draw...they even go berserk if they can smell the box..lol. I'm seriously thinking of planting some down the path next year..at least they could have their raptures outside. I do have some hidden in the cupboard downstairs as well, ready to put into some toys I have made..goodness help us all.

Well the coffee is calling and then it should be time to watch Joanna Sheen. It is so nice to see her back on the tv. It's an easy dinner tonight..Cornish Pasty and chips..with mushy peas.I just love them and haven't had them for an absolute age..so it will be a treat tonight. So..until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting

JB-Crafting Supplies....Birthday Tea Time

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. This card uses a stamp set from Hobby Art stamps. For all the details about this card, please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog. I love creating cards like this because it always reminds me of being a child and all the tea parties that my Grandmother used to host. I can remember the lovely floral dresses of the ladies and the smell of their perfumes. The pretty china on the tables and all the dainty sandwiches and cakes. Now this was one of the few times that the ladies got the chance to dress up and get together. Most of the time they were farmers wives with their own duties on the farm and this was always a chance to catch up. The gentlemen were always together but usually outside discussing the stock. Two items on the table for the men was celery with it's bowl of salt and pickled cucumber. There was always a separate table for the men..usually in a different room where their discussions were helped along with a whisky. The food was of a more substantial variety large sandwichs made with homemade brawn, pressed tongue or a large cooked ham.On the mens table, alongside the celery and pickled cucumber there was nearly always a large bowl of picalilli. I can remember helping my Grandmother making the picalilli and the way it took my breath away with the vinegar and spices.

If there is anything you need or want crafting wise, please pop over and see what Julie at JB-Crafting Supplies has. And don't forget to take a look at all the fabulous material that she has available. If you scroll through the facebook page, you will see some of the projects that she has completed..they are fantastic.

The sun is shining here today in the mountains and all the cats have left home. No doubt they are all sunning themselves somewhere. The only one that is inside is Nosey. I think that he is having a growth spurt as he has spent quite a few days just sleeping and eating. At the moment he is fast asleep in a small box on the couch..if a small box arrives for me, I always put it for the cats. There is nothing that they like better than a good box..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I've got some research to do on the internet for a friend. It involves memorial stones..so it should be fun. I love a mystery and will enjoy searching for answers. I'll let you know how it goes later. It's my favourite dinner tonight..fish, new potatoes and salad. I swear I could live on it. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies....Papercutting

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. The above picture is my first foray into the world of papercutting. The design itself is one from Paper Panda and when I saw it..I just had to do it. I have never had a go before but I think now I may have found a new love. If there is anything you need..please just get in touch with Julie, over at JB-Crafting Supplies. As well as everything craft based, she has the most delicious variety of materials. She holds workshops and the ladies that attend have created the most wonderful items..just take a look on the facebook page and you will see them. As for papercutting..I'm off and running and in the process of designing my own..I will share it with you when I've finished.

Here in the mountains today it's raining on and off. The cats are all playing yo-yos..going in and out between showers. The mist is sitting over the tops of the mountains but we're not quite a Brigadoon yet..lol. All the cats are in the dog house today....well if I had one, they would be. I got up this morning to a parlour that had been turned into a killing field. Now I know that it's natural for cats to catch birds and mice but I really don't appreciate the remains on my new carpet. Tiny feathers are everywhere and the hoover will be coming out any minute. I have dealt with everything but the tiny feathers and that's a job still to be done. The only ones that I know aren't involved in the chaos are Simon and Rave...they were with me all night. All the others..well they needn't come for a fuss anytime soon..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to hoover. I need some caffeine before I start and then I'll get on. It's going to be quiche and roast potatoes for dinner..I shall go downstairs later and get everything ready. Quiche is one of the things that I make quite often..todays will be an onion and mushroom one. I may make two and then for tomorrow we could have quiche and chips...we shall have to see. I'm off now for my caffeine hit...so until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies...The First Christmas Card

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. Before my friend Sunshine starts on at me..yes I know it's still June but all the craft channels have been featuring Christmas products and once I got the idea for this card into my head...I just had to make it to shut myself up..lol. The card features a stamp from Hobby Art and backgrounds created with my Lyra watercolours. For all details about this card please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog. As always..should you have any crafting needs or wants..please pop over to JB-Crafting Supplies and speak to Julie. I think that it's really important that we as crafters support local businesses..if we don't then there will be no local craft shops and the huge impersonal superstores that really don't care will win. I personally love being able to speak to Julie, knowing that she is both a crafter and sewing guru, makes asking questions so much easier. All too many times the huge chains have no interest apart from how much money they can make...and most of the people that work there just want to get the day over with and have no interest in crafting themselves.

The sun is shining here in the mountains today. All the cats are outside apart from Nosey who is asleep on the couch. Last night I could not stop laughing..I had the new carpet for the parlour arrive..all rolled up and the cats immediately thought that they had been bought a huge scratching post. My friend the PA put some cushions by it to try and stop them but all to no avail..lol. Milky flung herself at the roll of carpet and looked for all the world as if she had been splatted at it. Her front and back legs were all stretched out to the sides and she was trying her hardest to hang on as well as have a scratch. I just couldn't stop laughing. Finally she decided to sit on top of the roll and I left her to it. The cats are in for more fun in a couple of weeks when all the flooring for downstairs arrives. I won't know myself soon..with new carpet and lino downstairs and new carpet with underlay up in the parlour. I've told the cats they had better behave or they will find themselves wearing slippers..lol

Well the coffee is calling and I have a visitor coming later..I hope that they don't mind being surrounded by carpet and underlay..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies.....Bright Flowers

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. For this card I have used acrylic paint and a stencil. First I secured the stencil and covered it with white acrylic paint and then let it dry. I then used a sponge and added my colours. The white underside has really made the colours pop. When it was all dry, I went round the edges of the petals and leaves with a white pencil. If you need or want any crafting goodies, then just pop over to JB-Crafting Supplies. Julie is a very talented crafter and will no doubt help you find what you want.

Looking out of my window, I can't believe that the sun is shining. All through the morning it has hammered down and I was laughing because today is officially the first day of summer. And now, the sun is shining and the cats are stretched out on the studio roof. The kittens seemed to take it as a personal affront when it rained. And then last night I thought to myself that since they have been allowed out it has hardly rained at all..where as the older cats are well used to the normal village weather. If they get this affected by the rain..goodness only knows what they will make of snow later in the year. I always find it so funny to see a cat approach snow for the first time. It's as if they want to cover an area without actually touching it..lol. Milky has gone out as well...the last 24 hours she has spent in a box on the couch. She wasn't into sharing with any one and only got out of it to eat. I have to laugh at her and this box..it was brought to the house by a friend who knows how much they love a box and I honestly don't think it's been empty since it arrived..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make. So until then...take care and happy crafting.

JB- Crafting Supplies......The Funky Chickens

Here I am again with another design team make. This is for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. I have been lucky enough to work with this wonderful stamp set from Hobby Art...The Funky Chickens. For this make I began by using a stamp from my stash and created the backing paper. I stamped the three cockerels from the stamp set using my memento inkpad and then coloured them with my promarkers. These cockerels really make me smile and I thought it would make a great boys out on the town card. Sometimes you need to make a card just to make someone smile and these chickens really fill that gap.

If you need or want any crafting supplies, please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies face book page and take a look. Julie the owner is so helpful and will no doubt find what you need. She also supplies an amazing variety of materials and knitting supplies. Well worth a look.

It has stopped raining here in the mountains and the heat has returned. All the cats have departed outside again, apart from Jeffrey, who is staying in because he's not too well. For the past few weeks, I have been driven crazy by people who don't put their dogs on a lead and are quite happy for their dogs to run off and chase my cats. At this time last year, I had 5 of my cats bitten by loose dogs and it seems to be starting again. Jeffrey has been bitten by a dog and has a poorly leg. So he is staying in to recover..bless him.

Well the coffee is calling and Sparkle has just arrived..so I will be spoilt and not have to make my own. It always tastes better to me when I haven't had to make it..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies....Using texture Paste

Today's canvas is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I made this canvas by first making my own texture paste and spreading it through a stencil, to create the stone effect. I then stamped and coloured the leaves and the flowers.

For any of your crafting needs or wants, JB-Crafting Supplies is an Aladdin's cave of crafting goodness. They have a facebook page which has a huge amount of offers, both craft wise and sewing and knitting. If you are ever in their area, they also run a huge amount of classes...for details just check out their facebook page.

As I'm sitting here, I am slowly melting in the heat..lol. I did have plans for doing some more in my bedroom..getting ready to paint it but goodness me it's just so hot. It will have to wait until it cools down a bit. With the heat from the sun and my hot flushes (being a woman of a certain age..lol) I am at the point of not knowing what to do with myself. And the cats are exactly the same. One of my friends in the village has a tree in her front garden and for some reason my cats seem to think that it is the only tree worth sitting under. If they are not lay out on my studio roof, then they can be found under her tree. I once went out and came back to find 5 of my cats all stretched out on the pavement under her tree. Why this particular tree is better than any other..only the cats know why. She also has a pet duck which lives in her front garden and yesterday she said that Simon the Brave came face to face with the duck, which is called Peggy and bless him the Brave bit of him disappeared in a hurry..lol If he will go exploring there is nothing that I can do..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I have some cards to make...for a change. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies Just a piece of Paper.

Todays cards are all design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I created all the backgrounds with distress inks and a piece of paper. I had a play the other day just creating backgrounds. Some paper I just inked directly, some I crumbled before inking and on some others I used glossy card. I then cut various shapes out, stamped them and mounted them to create the cards. I loved playing with the inks and then just seeing what I could create. Some I sprayed metallic inks on and some others I added some mica powders..just had a really good play..which I have to admit...I loved every moment.

The weather here today in the mountains is glorious. The sky is blue with white fluffy clouds. The type of clouds that when I was a child, I used to lie in the fields looking at and imagining what they looked like. Fluffy bunnies seemed to feature quite a bit..lol. I can't see any bunnies today but I'll keep looking.

All the cats have deserted me..they are all lay out on the studio roof. They keep coming in to have a little nibble of their food and then they go straight back out. Last night, when I went to bed there wasn't a cat in the house. But when I woke in the middle of the night..the three kittens were all curled up round me. Nosey is getting more and more like a little dog. He likes to lie at the top of the stairs so that he doesn't miss anything. If he happens to be outside when he hears someone arrive..he will run in to see who it is..and then just leaves again. He certainly lives up to his name..lol

Well the coffee is calling and Sparkle has arrived to fix my computer for me. I seem to have lost a whole programme and I don't know how to get it back. He has just put the kettle on..so my timing is perfect..lol. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies.....Country Chickens

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. They showcase this wonderful set of stamps from Hobby Art. The set is called Cockadoodledo .

What I really love about this set is the fact that you can also build a country side image as well as the cockerel, hen and chick. You also get the stamp that enables you to create the chicken wire..which will be so handy in lots of my mixed media work. The chicken wire stamp comes in two different sizes and is really easy to join..so you can make a fence as small or as large as you need. All the sentiments that I have used are also from a Hobby Art set. For both of these cards, I have used my watercolours...but you could use any of your colouring mediums. If you have any of the Hobby Art scenic sets..you could also use them to extend your countryside views. I stamped all the images using my Versafine inkpad..but if I was going to use my promarkers or copics, then I would always use my Memento inkpad.

I had great fun colouring the cockerel. He reminded me of a cockerel that my Grandmother had when I was a little girl. This particular cockerel seemed to me to be enormous and goodness me he had a bad temper. I can remember the fantastic colours that he had...most of all I can remember the sun shining on his tail feathers and the colours contained there. To try and describe it is just too hard but it was a cross between blue and green with all the colours between.I was always fascinated by the colours and always wanted to see him..but he wasn't impressed with little girls and would chase me the length of the yard.If you can imagine a chubby little girl in a flowery dress and wellies running for her life...that was me..lol

The skies are blue and the sun is shining here in the mountains today. I'm trying again to have the window open but I don't know how long it will be before the kittens try it on..lol. At the moment I have Pinkie sat on my legs and she is being a little madam..trying to hang on by a claw. I must look like a human colander some days.

The big news here is that the shelves in the parlour have now been done. Later on there will be a bolt put on the door so that it can even be locked and cat proof. I am so excited..I don't know what to do with myself. I have only been waiting for these shelves for 26 years. It just shows that it does really come to those that wait...lol .Later on I will be sorting everything that needs to go in there...I'm going to take my time..having waited for so long..I want to do it properly.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've a few pieces of work to finish. All that is going round my head is how I want the cupboard..lol. I'm feeling very spoilt today..Sparkle is cooking dinner tonight..so a very easy day for me. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies....Garden Birds

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I have been lucky enough to get to work with this fantastic set of stamps from Hobby Art. This is the garden birds set. For these cards, I stamped the images with my Versafine ink pad and then coloured the images with my Lyra watercolours. So many of my friends are into bird watching..either out and about or just at their own bird tables..so there's lots of scope for making cards for them.

One thing that I want to do is to use the same stamps but make the birds really funky and add a humorous quote...I will have to have a go. On these cards it is exactly the same bird..just coloured differently. On the stamp set itself there are three different birds as well as flowers, branches and leaves. If you should need any crafting supplies..please pop over to Julie at JB-Crafting Supplies..if she doesn't have it, she will source it for you.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and most of the cats are outside. The kittens of course aren't allowed out yet...I don't think the village is ready yet for the tabby terrorists..lol. My friend Sparkle was putting a piece of board up for me and had far more help than he really wanted. Nosey was really happy sorting through Sparkles screws and tools and Simon decided that he didn't want the piece of board where it was placed and proceeded to try and dig the carpet up from underneath. There is never a dull moment here.

Well the coffee is calling and Sparkle has just put the kettle on. I am feeling rather spoilt..lol. I am going to be water colouring this afternoon..a vague landscape to go behind another picture.I'm quite enjoying working with the watercolours at the moment ..it seems ages since I have. I can now smell the coffee..so until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies....Pinflair Kits

Today's creations are design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. For the team over the past few weeks, I have been lucky enough to be able to work with some of the Pinflair Kits that are available from Julie at JB-CS.

All of the kits, take only an afternoon to make. What I find really nice is that you can pick whatever fabric you would like to use to coordinate with your own taste. And Julie has a wonderful selection of fabrics...so good in fact..I never know which I want to work with first..choosing is just so hard..lol.

This weeks make is the tissue box cover..which I covered with this fantastic strawberry fabric. If you pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies Blog..I have blogged each kit, step by step. Each kit comes with full instructions but sometimes it's easier to see what is supposed to happen..and if I think that I can add anything useful..I do.

The sun is shining here in the mountains..but goodness knows how long it will last..lol. All is very quiet in the cottage as well..all the cats have gone to sleep. I am tempted to go and wake them all..just to make them feel as I do in the middle of the night when they bounce on me..lol. When I go to bed at night I am finding Nosey is all ready and waiting. It seems to me that he eats his supper and then then toddles along to bed.He has such a rapture whenever I turn up..it does make me smile.

Well the coffee is calling as normal and then I have some cards to finish. I have just spied Gannie who is stretched fully out, asleep, on the couch. All the kittens are growing so quickly..I will take some new photos this week, so you can see. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies...Dreaming Big

Today's creations are both design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies I wanted to share my two makes with you . The first one is a plaque that I have made using a MDF blank. I kept seeing these words on lots of home decor items and thought..I could do that..lol. I first began with the blank plaque and painted it with some light green acrylic paint. I then added some torn papers..the paper was from a pad from the selection  at JB-Crafting Supplies. I then inked the edges with distress ink in a green..I do have a bit of a thing for green..as I'm sure you all know by now..lol. The letters that I used on the plaque were from an alphabet that I've had lurking in my stash for a couple of years..but I'm sure that Julie at JBCS could source some for you. I finally added some die cut flowers from my stash. If you don't have a diecutting machine you can of course make your own flowers in any way you like. There are lots of templates out there...looking through my stash, I have a few that I had totally forgotten about. I'm going to put this plaque on the wall in my parlour.

And now for my second make...I just had to share the story with you all. The picture is of a cushion cover that has only taken 40 years to finish. My Grandmother began this in the 1960's and I can remember her sitting sewing it. Sadly my Grandmother died in the 70's and all her embroidery got packed away..boxes of half finished projects. Now my Mother was a hoarder and all the boxes of embroidery and sewing moved house with her about 5 times. She passed away in 2004 and I had the job of sorting all her belongings and I moved the boxes to my house. Well I decided that the time had come to go through the final boxes that had been in my loft for the last 12 years. I went through the remaining boxes and came upon the box of my Grandmothers sewing. I had to smile..there was pieces of Crimplene..the wonder fabric of the 60's and 70's..and they are so in trend now..lol. The colours are as vibrant as ever..I may even make a top up using some of it. I also found lots of rolls of daisy edging and rick rack edging..I can remember it on my dresses. Then I dug deeper and found this cushion cover..half finished but with all the threads still in the bag. So I finished it and it's now about to sit on my couch. You can tell where I've stitched because the thread edges can be seen..where as where my Grandmother had stitched they have sort of blended. But as I look at it..it takes me back to the days when I was a little girl, sitting talking to my Grandmother whilst she stitched. Happy memories. So if you have anything that has been sitting around for a while, I would encourage you to finish it.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've a project that I'm in the middle of. It involves black paint, newspaper and gilding wax..goodness it's hard going as it has to dry between coats and everytime that it sits..the kittens think it should be their new scratching post..lol. Nosey is sat on my legs at the moment..he's probably fed up with being told off. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting
