Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center....New Challenge..and 31 days of Halloween..Day1

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge is just about to begin and will run for the next week. The theme for this week is anything LOC. For all details, please pop over to the LOC blog.

We re so lucky to have been sponsored by the great team over at the East Wind. I chose to work with this fabulous image called Spellbound. I hope that you will pop over and take a look at all the fabulous images that are available.

This card is also my entry for day one in the 31 days of Halloween Challenge. I decided to join in with this challenge because I thought that it would be fun to do and give me a chance to use a selection of the fabulous images that are out there for Halloween. I have been a little let down by BT because you are supposed to be able to post or a certain time but BT weren't playing and it is only now that they have managed to give me a connection. But despite this, I'm going to continue for the 31 days because I've done the images and at least I can share them with you. So I will continue to post for all 31 days and hope that you will enjoy seeing what I've made. Henry and I always made a huge thing of Halloween..we had lots of parties and lots of laughs..so in his honour I will write my memories of all the good times we had.

All the cats are driving me insane as well today. Of course it is my fault that it is raining and they are all sitting round me glowering because they can't go out. They could if they didn't mind getting wet but they have all decided to sit round me..lol. My friend Sparkle had an operation yesterday and is now one handed with one arm in a sling. He is not allowed to use the arm for a few weeks and is not even allowed to drive for months. He is very stoic about the whole thing but I can't help but worry..I just hope that the operation has helped..we shall have to wait and see. My other news is that I've been offered a new cooker and I have to say that I'm very excited. It has a ceramic hob and a double oven. I have craved a double oven for a long time but just couldn't afford one..so I'm so chuffed to be getting one.it means that most of the time I can just use the small oven but will have the large oven for Christmas baking and such.

Well the coffee is calling and then I have some painting to do. Lots of things to do..I just need to get it together and do it all. I have a lot of projects to photograph but the cottage is so dark today..it will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope that the weather is a bit better where you all are and that you all have a lovely weekend. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

  1. It's vexing to be torn into so many directions
but it is what keeps us going. If life was
smooth and flat - we'd sit back and stagnate
(or that's my philosophy). Enjoy your new
    cooker. take care.
