Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. The Owl

Todays card is from the Jayne NetleyMayhew cdrom from Joanna Sheen. As most of you know I do have a bit of a thing for owls and am building a collection of owl ornaments and pictures. So every so often I just have to make a card featuring one..lol. The lovely backing paper is from another Joanna Sheen cd...Hollypond Hill. I've said many times that the Hollypond Hill cdrom is a great cd if only for the pretty backing papers.I mounted the image and the backing paper onto some gold mirri. The small cut outs..the leaves and the baby owls were on the sheet with the main image. I think that this would make a great card for a man or a woman. Sometimes I find that I also need a card for someone that I don't know very well and this could be perfect for that.

Surprisingly it's not too bad a day today and is only lightly raining..lol. I've just had the nurse to give me my B12 injection..so now it's just waiting for the headache to arrive. The nurses tell me that other people that have to have this injection are so pleased with it and feel so much better..well I wish that someone would tell my body that. Every time that I've had it, I've ended up with a headache for 4 days. I've also had to have all my bloods done..so I can feel virtuous if nothing else..lol. The district nurses that cover this area are so lovely..they have such a wide area to cover and are always so nice. The lady that came today was so taken with the cat duplex, I just had to laugh..it seems to me that the Virgo man could make a fortune creating a new trendy cat duplex..lol

And here at last is a picture of Jack...Virgo mans dog.One of these days I will be able to crop a photo...lol..but as it is..at least you can see him. He is a lovely dog. When this photo was taken, he was in the middle of playing with his stick. As you can see..it's a very big stick but it is his favourite thing to play with. He also has a fanbelt which he carries around. At night he won't settle unless his sticks and his fanbelt are where he wants them..lol To give you a laugh..I thought that I would share the story of the old outbuilding that you can see in the background. Many many years ago this little outbuilding was the family toilet. Whats strange about that you may ask but when you realise just how far it is from any house..it takes my breath away. To get to the loo you would have to walk up a garden, cross a track and then walk along another track for at least 1000 yards before you got to this other garden and finally you would reach the toilet. And as it was then, there was no flush..just a wooden seat with a bucket underneath. These were emptied by a horse and cart. I can't even imagine what it would be like to traipse all that way in your nightie in the dark.

Well the coffee is calling and Sparkle has just arrived..perfect timing I think. So I'll head off and do some begging..lol..and then some work. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.
