Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. JB-Crafting Supplies...Dragonflies

Todays creation is a design team make for the great team over at JB-Crafting Supplies. I decided to make a little wallhanging for my bathroom. I used a paper pad called Perfect Prints...Blue Dawn. One of the papers was my inspiration for the wall hanging, as it was covered with dragonflies. For many years, I have collected little quotes and have always wondered what I'm going to do with them. Well, this year I decided that I'm going to pick my favourites and use them. I took two of the different papers from the pad and fixed them to a small canvas. I edged with a brush loaded with a distress ink.I wrote the saying onto some white card and then mounted it onto some rainbow holographic. I then took some peeloff dragonflies and stuck them onto some of the same. I cut them out and added them onto the canvas. I love the way that the rainbow holographic catches the light.

I have been so busy crafting lately. It's just as well really because I have been a little down. I think because it's been the anniversary of losing Henry...I think that it's just caught up with me. I'm not going to be rough on myself as I think that perhaps it's the natural way. It's just another way of reminding me to count my blessings. One of my blessings for today is the fact that the weather is nice today. Not so cold and the sun is shining...goodness only knows how long it will last, but I'll take it as it comes. Last night the rain battered the house and I have to say that the bed was full. Another of my blessings..the little furry beasts..lol. No matter how I feel, they always give me something to laugh about. Well the laugh that I was given over the weekend has to be one of the best. Obie, my little tabby had disappeared and I didn't know where she was until Sparkle arrived. He had popped home and had gone upstairs to his bedroom..and guess what he found. That's right...Obie. Somehow she had got to his house, gone in and found his bed the perfect place to have an afternoon nap! She didn't even run off when discovered...just gazed at him..lol. She had to be convinced to leave. I just live in hope that the other cats don't take it as a future plan to terrorise the village..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and more work waiting, so I'd better get on with it. So that I can work with a modicum of peace, I have shut the cats out of the parlour. For once I would like to make a card without my head being used as a roundabout...lol.So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting
