Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. JB-Crafting Supplies....Pinflair Kits

Today's creations are design team makes for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. For the team over the past few weeks, I have been lucky enough to be able to work with some of the Pinflair Kits that are available from Julie at JB-CS.

All of the kits, take only an afternoon to make. What I find really nice is that you can pick whatever fabric you would like to use to coordinate with your own taste. And Julie has a wonderful selection of fabrics...so good in fact..I never know which I want to work with first..choosing is just so hard..lol.

This weeks make is the tissue box cover..which I covered with this fantastic strawberry fabric. If you pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies Blog..I have blogged each kit, step by step. Each kit comes with full instructions but sometimes it's easier to see what is supposed to happen..and if I think that I can add anything useful..I do.

The sun is shining here in the mountains..but goodness knows how long it will last..lol. All is very quiet in the cottage as well..all the cats have gone to sleep. I am tempted to go and wake them all..just to make them feel as I do in the middle of the night when they bounce on me..lol. When I go to bed at night I am finding Nosey is all ready and waiting. It seems to me that he eats his supper and then then toddles along to bed.He has such a rapture whenever I turn up..it does make me smile.

Well the coffee is calling as normal and then I have some cards to finish. I have just spied Gannie who is stretched fully out, asleep, on the couch. All the kittens are growing so quickly..I will take some new photos this week, so you can see. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies.....Victorian Sewing Box

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. It is a Victorian Sewing box kit from Pinflair. It all folds up into a box and is just so handy for keeping a small repair kit in. I don't know about you but when needed, I can never find a needle and cotton...well I will now have a place. The kit, material and anything else you need is available from Julie at JB-Crafting Supplies. For more details about the box, please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog.

As you can see it all folds up and has a lid, which means it can sit neatly somewhere on a shelf..just to be got down when you need to make a repair. There is enough room that you could also keep a small pair of sewing scissors in there..they're another thing that you can never find when you need them..lol. I have to admit to having a small scissor fetish..lol. I'm very protective of my scissors..I have paper crafting ones, sewing and needlework ones, kitchen ones and general household ones..and never shall they be used for the wrong job..lol. It's bad I know but it was my Grandmothers insistence that each has a job and they will not be used for the wrong thing. It makes me laugh..I think it was because she did such a lot of sewing..it was a rule that her sewing scissors were never used for anything else.

It's a lovely day here in the mountains..the sun is shining and the sky is blue. I can see the mountains from my chair and all the different shades of green are just beginning to show. I'm in process of waiting for my tablets to kick in and then I'm planning to sort my corner out. As it's the place that I do all my work..we get to a point that you can't move for all the crafting stuff that is piled up. I'm in the middle of sorting all my embellishments out. So I thought to myself that I will get on with it this afternoon. For those of you that know my parlour..you will know the trauma that I'm going to end up with..lol. Tomorrow is down as sort the bathroom out day..the kittens have turned it into a cats playground and I've decided to do it. They have spread tissues everywhere, pulled stuff out of the airing cupboard and generally caused chaos. No more I say..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then when I'm caffeine fuelled, I shall start in my corner. It will end up being a bit of a lucky dip..who knows what I will find..lol. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies

For today's design team make, I have used this wonderful kit from Pinflair. It is available from Julie at JB-Crafting Supplies...alongside a wonderful selection of fabrics. I am aiming to use this box to keep my rings away from the little furry beasts..who seem to think that emptying my rings from their bowl is the greatest fun. The good thing about this box is when you are not using it..the lid goes on and you are just left with a cube.

As I've said, the kit and material are both available from Julie, along with the special book binding glue which is used to attach everything together. What I would advise getting is a glue spreader..which allows you to be more accurate and save you using too much. The only other thing that you will need is a ruler or a tape that measures in centimetres. The other great thing I love about this kit is that it allows you use whatever fabric you prefer. So many kits come with the material included..which sometimes can be a pattern you are not fond of or something that doesn't go with your own colour scheme. This way if you want it to be purple with black spots..you can have it..the sky is your limit..if you see some fabric you love...just go for it.

It's chilly here in the mountains today. The mountains were white this morning but it looks as if it has all gone now. It seems to be quiet time here at the moment..thank goodness. Because I'm in the middle of sorting everything out..the parlour looks as if it has been stirred with a stick..lol. It makes me tired just looking at it all. I'm so looking forward to the end stage. As I'm sat here I can hear the kittens racing up and down stairs...it sounds a herd of large beasts..lol. They have just raced in and over my computer..I will be getting really loud really soon.

Well the coffee is calling and I think I have the need for a scone.I will have to think what I want for dinner. I have absolutely no idea. Some days are like that..if I lived in a normal place , it might have been a night for a takeaway...but here in the mountains there isn't one for miles.I shall just have to get my head together and have a hunt into my cupboards...you never know what is lurking. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting

Church Window

Todays card is made using a stamped image from Katy Sue Designs. I stamped the church window and cut out the window shape. I painted a snowy sky and added this behind the window frame. I stamped the candles and added them to the window sill. The foliage is made using the pinflair punch to make small leaves and added red jewels to look like berries. I then mounted the finished window onto an embossed background. All the painting was done using twinkling H2Os. I find something really peaceful about this card and it's useful to have such a card for friends who are more into the religious and traditional.
I spent all of yesterday making inserts. Today will be spent decorating them and hopefully getting the cards bagged ready for posting. I managed to make over a 100 yesterday so only another 400 to go. But I've started, so now I'm feeling confident that with a little organisation I'll get there. It's very cold here in the mountains and the frosts have been quite hard. We are all on snow watch. There is nothing that I love more is being in the house warm and cosy when outside is freezing. All the cats have got themselves organised and by 7p.m. are all in and settling down. They all have their own favourite spaces and heavens help anyone who interferes with that.
Well the coffee is calling..I hope that you are keeping all warm and cosy. Time to get back to the inserts I think..so until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting
