Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center...New Challenge and 31 Days of Halloween...Day 9

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. It is also my day 9 make for the 31 days Challenge. Over at LOC, a new challenge has just begun and will run for the coming week. The theme for this challenge is Halloween..so is the perfect place to share your creepy, funny. haunting or just down right strange creations.

Our sponsor for this challenge is the ever talented Rick St. Dennis. I love the variety of images that he provides for us crafters. I just wish that I had even a part of his amazing talent. I chose the image I used because as I have often stated..I wish that images of witches were beautiful but now I have to admit..if I was a witch I probably look like this one..lol.And the cat with the startled face would probably be Simon. Seriously though there are some fantastic images over at Ricks store..why noy pop over for a look.

I hope that you will also pop over to the LOC blog and take a look at the fabulous creations made by the rest of the team. The ladies never fail to inspire me.

The sun continues to shine here in the mountains today and I have had a delivery of items to alter..what fun awaits me. Today's collection is from some friends who have sold their cottage and are packing it up. So some of the stuff they didn't want has arrived here ready to alter. The two things that have got me really excited are a lantern with a mirrored back, which is crying out to be painted and embellished and a lovely mantle clock, also screaming paint me..lol. I also aquired a wicker storage box and a funky tin cat. It's so nice to have a little collection ready for when the mood takes me. I am always looking for items to alter..I have a box of china skulls waiting for the inspiration to take me. Some really strange things find their way to my house..because many people think that this is the perfect place for the unusual .One of the largest and strangest items to arrive was a Green Man. It is about 4 foot in diameter and is an original casting of one in Bath. It is hanging from the front of the cottage and seems to feature in a lot of treasure hunts in the valley. The cottage sign itself features Candy skulls and there is a gargoyle on the studio roof. Milky the cat seems to have taken a dislike to the gargoyle and can be seen slapping it most days..lol. She just doesn't understand why it won't fight back.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to do some work. I'm thinking of doing some stamping..so hopefully the cats will play out until I've finished. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting

    wonderful treasures to re-purpose.
Your project is darling. Poor kitty
looks like he's in some hurt but he'll
    get over it.
