Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. 31 Days of Halloween....Day 12

Today's page features this wonderful image from The East Wind and is for the 31 days challenge.I found this quote and then wanted to find an image to fit, found this one and thought it was perfect. The monster is coming out. I have to admit to my own monster coming out this morning. It takes a lot for me to lose my temper but when I blow..I blow. To days moment was because yet again one of my cats got attacked by yet another dog off a lead. It was Nicademus who suffered today. A stupid woman had her dog off the lead and seemed so surprised when it wouldn't take any notice of her when it ran after my cat. The dog got hold of Nicademus and shook him. Nicademus managed to get under a car and when the woman took the dog off..he ran home. He has a patch where all the fur was pulled out and is limping. He is now curled up on the couch, bless him. He is limping because he does suffer with his back legs..age related and I think that he has just exerted himself too much. He is my oldest cat..he's12 now so I think he just needs a quiet moment. My monster is definitely out.

I think that Nicademus and I will just have a quiet afternoon...and let our monsters calm a little. I have a job to do later but am just waiting for my painkillers to kick in. As I said the other day my chest of drawers had arrived..but then I had another problem. I couldn't get them upstairs to the parlour. Well yesterday I have to admit to getting a random man off the street..lol..in my defence he was a friend of Sparkles..and he very kindly carried it up for me. I now have to empty 2 cupboards and file everything away in the new drawers. I'm really looking forward to it. I know that I'm sad but I do actually love getting organised. The huge cupboard in the parlour that holds lots of craft supplies is still the joy of my life..it holds so much and it is a cat free zone. No longer can they get in it to cause havoc and it so nice to have a place for everything.Well nearly everything..the surplus is going in the new drawers. When I've finished the parlour it will be time to hit the bedroom..I'm half way there. I have to say, the cats hate change. They always look at me as much to say Mother what on earth are you doing now and as usual they have to have a moment sitting on whatever is new or moved..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then hopefully the painkillers will have worked and I can get down to sorting. I've already found about 20 paintbrushes that I had put in a safe place and a pencil that was missing from a set. I have to say that I can remember putting all my paint away in it's case but have managed to lose it. I wouldn't mind but it's not as if the parlour is huge and that the case is tiny but it's gone walkabout..only a crafter will understand..lol. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting

  1. I keep re-arranging - my son just brought me this wonderful
storage with drawers. Someday we'll decide that we are happy
with the way things are stored and quit stressing - but I'm
not sure when/if that will ever happen. Hope Nicademus feels better soon - you too. Don't over-do.
    take care.
