Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Snowflakes Promise......New Challenge

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at a Snowflakes Promise. As always the new challenge will run for a fortnight and the theme is Christmas or winter themed makes. There have been some absolutely beautiful makes and I have so enjoyed looking at them.

For this new challenge we have lucky enough to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Sassy Studio Designs. I chose the Snowman Pinup to work with. I loved the details on this image and so enjoyed working with her. I coloured the image with my promarkers and used some snowflake patterned paper from my stash.

I do hope that you will consider popping over to the A Snowflakes Promise blog and take a look at all the designs created by the rest of the team...they are always a fantastic source of inspiration.

The weather here in the mountains has been horrible. The mists are still down and it's raining so badly that all the cats have decided to stay in and drive me crazy...lol. The kittens are all growing rapidly and the amount of food that they are managing to put away is astounding. I've just had to buy 8 dozen tins of cat food, as well as biscuits and can only hope that it will last for 2 weeks. I have noticed that in the winter months the cats eat more and I've always put it down to the fact that they seem to stay in more and don't go out and hunt.

Well the coffee is calling and I'll be back soon with some more design team makes. So until then..take care and happy crafting.
