Coming down out of the freezing sky
with its depths of light,
like an angel, or a Buddha with wings,
it was beautiful, and accurate,
striking the snow and whatever was there
with a force that left the imprint
of the tips of its wings — five feet apart —
and the grabbing thrust of its feet,
and the indentation of what had been running
through the white valleys of the snow —
and then it rose, gracefully,
and flew back to the frozen marshes
to lurk there, like a little lighthouse,
in the blue shadows —
so I thought:
maybe death isn’t darkness, after all,
but so much light wrapping itself around us —
as soft as feathers —
that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking,
and shut our eyes, not without amazement,
and let ourselves be carried,
as through the translucence of mica,
to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow,
that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light —
in which we are washed and washed
out of our bones.

The Snowflake Mice
Todays card is made using the wonderful Brambley Hedge cdrom from Crafters Companion. It is a card that I have featured on my facebook page..Vixenvarg Cards and Creations..and have been asked for more details. In fact there are a number of cards that I have featured there and will be detailing on here because people have asked and I love to share.
The image on the cd was with a different coloured doily so I matted it onto the blue doily and then matted that onto some silver holographic. The backing paper is an older piece from my stash but any matching colour paper would be just as nice. When I had mounted the image, I surrounded it with snowflake die cuts. These are from my ever growing collection of snowflake dies. Some are from the All Occasion Range and some from Crafters Companion. Some of the snowflakes have been cut in silver mirri, silver holographic, blue mirri and some have been painted with H2Os. I have also glittered the window of the image.
I hope you like the card and wherever you are, I hope you have a good day. Take care and happy crafting.
