Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Flowers of the Season

Todays card is made with a topper from my stash (available from jb crafting supplies). The backing paper is from a Joanna Sheen cdrom. The topper image is decoupaged and the embellishment is made using the Tattered Lace die range. Around the edge I have used an enclosed glitter peeloff. To me it is a very traditional christmas image but it's what alot of people like to receive. I have mounted the backing paper onto some dark green card. I have to admit that when it comes to christmas..I'm a bit of a traditional girl. I have always preferred the red, green and gold colours. Even though alot of my friends are very contemporary, using purples, pinks and black, I still remain the same. I can't explain why..perhaps it's memories of my childhood.
Well there is a definate nip in the air today. The sky is quite grey and moody..and there is a cold snap to the air. The cats haven't travelled far..they are all sat on the studio roof with the wind ruffling their fur. It's as if they can smell the change in the weather..they sit with their noses in the air smelling the breeze.
Today I've got 20 christmas cards to decorate so I suppose it's a case of drink the coffee and get on with it. I hope you have a really good day and that the weather is kind to you..take care and happy crafting.
