Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Monkey through the leaves

As you can read this is a card that I made for the daughter of a dear friend. Her one great love in life is orangutans. Every year I get asked to make her a card featuring this amazing animal. She supports alot of charities that work with the orangutans especially the ones that help with the orphaned babies.
I get asked to make alot of unusual cards..that is one of my greatest joys..to make a special card for someone who has a special but different hobby or interest. The more people I work for ..the more it amazes me just how difficult many find it to find a card they really like. I think this is one of the reasons that handmade cards has taken off. People are fed up with the fishing, football and floral cards that they see in card shops. A handmade floral card offers so much more..unusual images, textures and just the right sentiment. Some days I feel really blessed to be able to give my customers what they want. Okay sometimes I may have to search a little further, spend a little longer or think a little more about a special card  but that's the fun of the thing.
I can't believe that it's Friday again. I don't know where the last week has gone..it could very well be hidden behind a big pile of christmas glitter..lol. My plan for today is to photograph the cards that I've made in the previous week.I have a pile waiting to be bagged to be posted after the weekend. I like to get all my posting together to go in one trip. My friend does the posting for me..the local post office is 7 miles away. The nearest Asda is 40 miles away so a trip to go shopping can be a day trip. Because of this and because of my diability, I tend to all my shopping online. My son sometimes asks me what I'm doing on the computer and I tell him I've gone to Asda! I have become the queen of spotting a bargain. If we're having something a bit different..he'll tell anyone that we're only having it because it must have been on offer. Well the way I see it is the more money I can save on bargains..the more I have for crafting goodies.
Well time to go and find the camera..I hope you all have a fabulous weekend  so take care and happy crafting.
