Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. 31 Days of Halloween.....Day 28

Today's pages are from my Halloween book which I have made for the 31 days challenge. If I knew more about computers I would have put them side by side as they appear in the book but my skills on the laptop are not the best..lol. The thought of these pages was my memories of Halloween parties with my friends. A lot of alcohol and food was consumed and we always had a great time. All the ladies that I've used are from the fabulous team over at Lacy Sunshine. When I began the pages I just couldn't decide which lady to use..so I did all three..lol. I just love all the little details in the images.
Here in the mountains today the mists have come down and it's drizzling. All the cats keep looking out of the window in disgust..lol. I'm feeling very virtuous today as I gave the parlour a good hoovering. And I can honestly say that the cats were disgusted with that as well..lol. Jeffrey spent most of the time battering the hoover and the rest of the time he was trying to eat any cat biscuits off the floor before I hoovered them up. One of my old dogs Hilly hated the hoover even more than Jeff and every time I put it on she would attack it. I used to have a dyson and she once ripped the front bumper off it in temper. I wouldn't have minded but she wasn't a big dog and the dyson was quite heavy..she was determined to get her own way..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I'll get down to some work. I was intending to get my brushos out yesterday but I had visitors and thought that they wouldn't appreciate being covered in multi coloured pigments..lol. So I'm all ready to get messy and really looking forward to it. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

31 Days of Halloween....Day 21

Today's entry for the 31 days challenge is another page for my Halloween book. The theme I took for this page was inspired by this quote from Edgar Allen Poe. It was the idea of lost love. The images are from two different digital design teams...The East Wind..at the top and Lacy Sunshine..bottom right. The heart stamp at the top right is from my stash and I have no idea where it came from..it is from back in the day when I didn't note down the company and any details..lol. I just thought that the images worked together.I do notice that I have a bit of a tendency to do strange coloured hair..I think that's it's a hangover from my punk days.I changed the colour of my hair every week...I'm amazed that my hair lived through it all. I remember that I had a poncho type wrap but it had long black fringing..it was like wearing a dense spider web. I was known because I painted my face and was pretty outrageous..lol...these days I'm only outrageous on the inside. Saying that my hair has been pink, purple, green and blue in the last 12 months. A man that met me not long after he'd moved in to the village met me on the lane..my hair was pink, Reg was attached to my wheelchair and all the cats were out with us..I think he was a little shocked..lol and proceeded to tell everyone he met that he'd met a very strange woman..lol. I had to laugh because he obviously hadn't realised just how quick things get round a small village and that I've lived here so long everyone just told me. I think now he just lets me off by saying that I'm obviously arty..lol

The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. My poor leg is having a rest and is up on it's box stool. It really doesn't like being fiddled with in any way. I've decided that it can have a rest this weekend..I have lots of work to do so I'll just stay in my chair and get covered in paint and paper. I'm sure that Raven will love every minute of it. She will be nested on my legs the whole time. It will be a little strange to be doing things that are not Halloween. All my Halloween projects are all finished and ready to blog.I think that Christmas projects are going to hit the ground running. Brace yourself..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I've lots of printing to do. Luckily the printer is right by my chair..so I don't even have to move. I had to laugh yesterday I saw lots of people who were so shocked to see me out..lol. Three people actually said that they always thought of me in my corner working..that every time they came to visit me I always was in the middle of a project. I don't actually think about it very much..living in the middle of nowhere and being in a wheelchair means that going out is a major procedure and as much as I enjoy going out..I'm always so glad to be home. All my friends know that I'm here and I am so lucky that they come and visit. And anyway I don't think I could put up with cats sulking that often..lol So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center...New Challenge

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the coming week. The theme for this challenge is 'Bones', but of course you have the option of going LOC. For all the details of that, please check out the LOC blog.
This weeks challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous team over at Lacy Sunshine. I hope that you will find time to pop over to the Lacy Sunshine shop and take a look at all the wonderful images that are available.
I should have been able to blog over the weekend but as usual BT weren't playing fair. You pays your money and get nothing in return. The signal was in and out all the time and I have to say that I gave up and put the computer away. It was either that or throw the whole thing through the window..lol. I did mange to get all my die cutting done..snowflakes,poinsettias,leaves, trees and reindeer..all done. I'm still needing to do some silver bits but are waiting for the silver card to arrive. I do feel a bit like Popeye after all that die cutting..my muscles have certainly had a workout. But I did take it slowly so not to aggravate my hands. Every time my hands began to hurt, I had a little break. So now all the diecuts are separated into their own drawers..the next step will be to put all the poinsettias together and get them glued..that can wait until a slow afternoon. I'm hoping to do some printing done this afternoon..if the printer wants to play.
The cats are all sulking because it's raining. The parlour is littered with furry bodies, each in their own little space. From where I'm sat I can see Rave, Nicademus, Sprout, Milky and Simon. Tankie and Gannie are asleep in the airing cupboard. One of these days I will have the door fixed on the cupboard so they can't get in but I've already moved all bedding from there..so the only things left in there not covered is the cat blankets. No matter how I tried to keep them out..they always found a way and I finally gave up trying to keep them off my sheets..so in the end I moved the sheets. I was fed up with washing all the contents of the airing cupboard..lol.
Well the coffee is calling and then I'll be off to do some printing. I'll have to get into a Christmas zone and decide what cards to begin with. I'll have to make the stamping or printing option. I'll let you know what I decide tomorrow. So until then..take care and happy crafting,

Left of Center......New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge is due to begin later and will run for the following week. The theme for this challenge is Dots and/or Stripes. And as always, you have the choice of going LOC..for all the details of that..please take a look at the LOC blog.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Lacy Sunshine. I found it so hard to decide which one to work with. I finally chose this little Woodland Wisp. I just adored her.
I wanted to go with orange and green..my favourite colours. To fit into the theme of this challenge, I added some dots to her dress and scarf and also to her hair ribbons. I also added some stripes to her dress. I am also thinking of using this image in a larger piece of work. I'm thinking of drawing a background of flowers and trees and placing her in the middle. It will be put away until a time when I don't have a pile of work to get through. I always need a project in hand..lol.

The bank holiday has just begun and I've already had the music of a chainsaw playing in my ears..lol. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring. I got up this morning with the chickens...I surprised myself and have even been colouring already. All the cats are outside sunning themselves. My neighbours have been away but came back last night..and one of the first things they did was throw water at one of my cats. It was one of my older girls and she was so shocked...she ran in and expected me to say something by the look on her face..lol. She refused to go back out and sat on the windowsill glowering at their garden. I have to say that I don't mind the water treatment..after all not everyone likes cats and it doesn't hurt anything except their pride. So in more than one way, I am left wondering what the bank holiday will bring..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be back to the colouring. After that their are lots of painting projects waiting to be finished. Also I have cards to make and stamping to do..I'll be in my element. I hope that you all have a peaceful bank holiday and that the weather is kind to you.I'm off to hit the caffeine and then to the promarkers...so until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge is just about to begin and will run for the following week. The theme for this week is Sparkle..so it's a perfect time to get out all those glitters and bling. And who as a crafter doesn't have a secret stash of all things sparkly? I have so much, I should be attending a help meeting. One visitor said he had never seen so many shades of glitter..dry,wet or chunky..lol. I told him that as far as I was concerned it was a need...after all you never know what you're going to use until you start creating. But if for some reason you don't like sparkle...you always have the option of going LOC. For all details of that..just have a read on the blog.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous Lacy Sunshine. Why not pop over and take a look at all the fabulous images that are available to buy.

I'm sorry that I haven't been on this week..only since Reg passed, I found that I just had to switch off for a while. I got loads of work together and just lost myself in colouring and painting. I do have to say that writing the blog today is rather hard as Raven has decided that she wants to sit on my wrist and arm as I type..lol. And she must be happy..she's purring like a little engine.

It's a lovely day today here in the mountains but I still think it's cold. The village no doubt will be full of holiday makers. All I can hear though is the sound of banging. All the second home owners seem to come up to do work, so every fine day over a bank holiday all you can here is banging, drilling and sawing. There is nothing better than the sound of logs being chopped at midnight. Now a chainsaw has started..joy of joys.Obviously we only live here so are given no thought..after all we are the peasants and must remember to doff our caps at the gentry..lol.I think I'm going to need a coffee soon.

Well the coffee is calling, as I said and then I think I need to finish some of the work that I've started. Most of the cats are outside, enjoying the dry weather. I will be back later with another design team make. I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter weekend..without the sound of a chainsaw. So until later...take care and happy crafting.
