Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Skating in the snow

Todays card is made using a topper and backing card by My Paper Stash available from jb-crafting supplies. There is a link to them on the right side of this blog. In the pack there are 8 toppers and I piece of co-ordinating card. I loved them. Out of the card I managed to make 3..6x6 backing pieces. 2 were cut directly and the 3rd. piece I made by layering the paper pieces that were left. They have made some lovely cards. I love the image of the lady skating. How I wished that I looked like that. How I wished I could skate..lol.
When I was a young girl I was never allowed to go iceskating because I had such weak ankles and I was the clumsiest child on the planet. I seemed to even fall over my own feet. And it seems to be hereditary. Both my son and my daughter have the lets fall over gene. How I longed to be graceful. It just never happened...I suppose that the wellies didn't help. Living on the farm, wellies seemed to be my footwear of choice..and even now I can't wear heels without a wobble.
The weekend is now here and my friends have arrived. And I'm already tired..lol..that could be due to the fact that we didn't go to bed until 4a.m. I have been trying to craft already today and have decided that more coffee is required. So whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope you have a great time.Take care and happy crafting.
