Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Here I am and I can't quite believe that it's Halloween. We made it!. Congratulation to all the other crafters that joined in with the 31 Days Challenge. Todays two pages are made using these wonderful images from Rick St. Dennis. He has featured quite a bit on my challenge but I just love his work. Please don't think that his images are just for Halloween..he has such a selection of beautiful artwork..you will always find something to suit your needs.

I hope that you all have a fabulous evening and that you enjoy every minute. I know that a lot of parties took place over the weekend..and plenty of hangovers to recover from..lol

And for my final image for this challenge...I thought I would share one of my favourite images from Bloobel designs..it sums up in one image how I feel right now..and I'm sure that some of the other 31 days challenge crafters feel the same..lol

Well the coffee is really calling here and Sparkle has just made me one...so I'm off to enjoy it. Thankyou to everyone who has stayed with me over this challenge and it has been so lovely to hear from you all. Left of Center..New Challenge and 31 Days of Halloween..Day 30

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges and is also for Day 30 of the 31 Days Challenge. The challenge for this week s of course Halloween and will run for the coming week. You can as always join in doing an LOC make (for all details please check out the LOC blog)..if Halloween isn't your thing.

Our sponsors for this week is the great team over at Bloobel Designs. Now as you can probably tell I just adore these images and my greatest problem s deciding which one I would like to work with the most. For this challenge I chose to work with this wonderful witch and her cat. It's a bit like looking into a mirror apart from the fact she has a better figure..lol. It's a lot like me and my Raven..lol. I do hope that you will pop over to the Bloobel shop and take a look at all the amazing designs.

I can't quite believe it that the 31 days challenge will be over tomorrow. I have seen such fabulous creations and have loved every minute. I've got lots of ideas for next year..but some of them I will have to plan a little earlier and keep my eye out for some little oddities..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've got some colouring to do. I'm undecided what medium to use yet though. I do admit to wanting to use my pencils but my paints are calling as well. It really depends where the cats are..lol. They tend to help so much where water is concerned. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

31 Days of Halloween....Day 20

Today's image is another page out of my Halloween Book. To me this is a perfect image that makes me smile every time I look at it. If I had to have a representation of myself...this image from Bloobel would be perfect..so I just had to include it in the 31 Days Challenge. I'm thinking of working with this image again and creating a picture for my bathroom. This was definitely me last night..lol. I indulged in a long hot bath in preparation of my hospital visit...but I do have to say it was anything but peaceful. All the cats have to come into the bathroom to check that I'm ok..and they did. Gannie is fascinated by the bubbles and always plays until he finds my toes...I'm sure that one of these days he is going to end up in the bath with me..lol. Last night Milky arrived in the bathroom and headed off with the towel that I had put down to stand on. She managed to kick it into a ball shape and headed out of the door with it, the little madam.

I was up with the birds this morning and headed off to the hospital. I had my scan on my foot and bless them but what a waste of time. All the lady talked about was my scars and couldn't see what she was looking for. The fact that she seemed to be scanning in the wrong place didn't make any difference. But I have to say that I'm not going again..the pain in my foot is horrible and seems to be going up the bone in my leg. My friend that took me offered to take me shopping but all I wanted to do was to come home, take my tablets and get my leg up. And here I am. I'm just glad it's all over and done.

As I've been joining in with this challenge, I have been so inspired by the other creations made by the other crafters that have entered. I'm still trying to comment but BT are still playing up..they will let me the blogs..some days..but won't let me comment...I'm hoping to get round all the blogs in the next week. During this challenge I entered a competition on the blog of Susan R and was so lucky and actually won...I've never won anything before..so I was so chuffed. Well my prize arrived today and I was blown away with a huge envelope of treasures. A piece of Susan's Art is now on my mantlepiece and wow the goodies are amazing. Spiders, ribbons, papers, jewels and flowers..a treasure trove. I haven't stopped stroking yet..lol. This amazing gift has given me lots of ideas to include in my challenge next year. So thankyou Susan R for such a wonderful surprise win.

The sun is shining here in the mountains today. I'm looking forward to doing some peaceful colouring this afternoon whilst my pain killers do their work. All the cats have protested the fact that I left the house, filled their tummies with Mother is guilty as charged treats and have all left the building. Apart from Raven who is playing hot water bottle..bless her.

Well the coffee is definitely calling today and then it's colouring. I just love it. I use lots of different mediums..acrylic paints, H2Os, watercolour paints and pencils, alcohol pens..whatever I can lay my hands on actually. I think that this afternoon I'll be using my inktense pencils. I just love them..they start off looking very subdued but once you add the water the colours pop. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting

Left of Center...New Challenge

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge is just about to begin and will run for the coming week. The theme for this challenge is Quirky or Weird...so that just about sums up most things that I do..lol. As always you have the choice of going LOC. For all details about that, please check out the LOC blog.

For this weeks challenge we have been lucky enough to have been sponsored by the fantastic Bloobel Stamps. I just adore the images and found it so hard to decide on which image to use..so in the end I worked with two..lol. The one above is so understandable for a caffeine head like me and the one below I just loved the details..especially the plant eating her hair..lol. Both images I coloured with my promarkers.

It's been a hectic day here in the mountains.Things have been going in and out of the skip all day. I had the tree trimmed back..it had gone so out of control that it covered the whole patio area...now the patio is clear and nearly ready for the umbrella to go up. It's guaranteed that it will rain for the rest of year as soon as it goes up..lol. The new cottage sign and the village notice board are also going up in the front garden. I have a new sideboard for the parlour...lots to go out..lots to go upstairs and lots to do down and out to the skip..the whole thought is very exciting. A new armchair is coming in for the parlour as well. I won't know myself by the time it's all finished. Hopefully by the next weekend my bedroom will be done as well. Fingers crossed. The cats are still not walking on the new carpet..they all still come in through the window and go round the edge of the room on the furniture and then jump out of the door onto the landing carpet..lol. I know I warned them that if they made a mess I'd make them wear slippers..but I never thought that they'd take me seriously..lol. With all the going on today, they've been back and to all the time. They do like to keep an eye on things.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've got some painting to finish. It seems really strange to be blogging at this time of day but I'm a good girl..well sometimes..and do what I'm asked. I do hope that you will pop over to the LOC blog and take a look at all the fabulous makes that the rest of the team have made. I'm heading for the kettle..so until next time..take care and happy crafting.
