Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Decoupage Delights...Vintage Moment

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful Decoupage Delights. For this card I have used one of my all time favourite images to use on a mans card. The boy with the train set. This image is due to be on the next cdrom from Decoupage Delights and I can't wait. For some reason this image has provoked such a response from some of my customers. I was lucky enough to be able to work with this image before the release of the cd and goodness me..if this is anything to go by..the cd should be a best seller. For this card I was asked to do a collage type card featuring the things that a gentleman loved as a boy. So I went on a hunt through my collection of vintage style things in my stash and managed to come up with this card. The extras include, the cover of a book and small picture of a bird because when he was younger he loved bird watching. The image of the train set..because he still has one, alongside lots of other pieces of ephemera.

If you get the chance, please pop over to the Decoupage Delights face book page and take a look. There is very often great deals on the page featuring cds, downloads or freebies. It's well worth taking a look. And watch out for the due date on the upcoming cdrom.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and the cottage is nearly empty of cats..lol. It's still noisy though..the kittens are not allowed out yet. My friend has just visited and they wouldn't leave her alone..lol. She was amazed just how large they have become. Actually she is the lady that has had their mother, Flossie. It turns out that Flossie has now become Queen of her new domain and is having a wonderful time. She gets exactly what she wants...which I have been told cuddles at 6a.m. And she has turned out to be a fussy madam..only eating what she fancies..and having lots of little treats. I couldn't have wished for a better home for her.

Well the coffee is calling and then I'm off to make a pansy fan using a stamp which has been missing for about 2 years. I found the stamp when I was looking for my inks and micas...but I still haven't found them..lol. At the moment the parlour still looks as if it's been stirred with a stick..but at least I know it will be better in the next couple of days. And hopefully my new bed will be arriving. So lots of moving round will be going on...and no doubt the kittens will be helping..lol. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.
