Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. The White Coat

Todays card is from the forthcoming Decoupage Delights 'Vintage Fashion' cdrom. I just love these ladies in the fabulous fashions of yesterday. I have mounted the backing paper onto some black card and have created a border with the same black card and some black lace. The image is decoupaged and I have mounted it onto an oval of gold mirri. I have embellished with a corner of white roses and diamante.I have also added some jewels to the border.

The sun is shining in the mountains today and the birds are singing. I've spent most of the morning swearing under my breath. At 5a.m.Jeffrey did his usual and woke me up but I was determined to go back to sleep. Well I finally managed it, only to be woken again at 7a.m. by my lovely next door neighbour banging on the wall. He always seems to pick the early morning to bang bang and bang on the adjoining wall. So I gave up the thought of a lie in and got up. The cats were very happy to receive their breakfasts. When I finally made it into the parlour..I was not a happy bunny. Reg had managed to yet again damage the phone. I wouldn't have minded but yesterday he managed to break the normal phone by knocking it into my coffee...it was not enough that he'd already killed a remote control by doing the same. So I had replaced the phone by replacing it with my spare phone. Well now that is dead as well. Only Reg! He seems to be on a roll. I remember back to when he was a puppy..he had a bit of a thing for anything wicker. He ate the top off every basket that I had. I had just bought a large wicker basket that had cost me about £30 and it had only been in the house for 24 hours and I returned from a trip out to discover that Reg had eaten the top rim off it. The house was littered with small pieces of wicker. Today the house is littered with dead phones..lol.

There will be more photos of the cats next week. It's as if they know that I'm after catching them with the camera...and head off at great speed when they spot it...lol Hobo has just arrived yet again. He really is determined that he will become one of the family..whether we like it or not..lol. He seems to spend most of the day on the studio roof and complains every time one of my cats arrives on the roof. I have to admit that the roof of the studio is littered with magazines that I have thrown out of the window to try and stop the boys fighting..lol. No doubt it will be a job for pretty boy when he visits again. One of his jobs has always been to clear the studio roof of all the 'presents' that the cats bring home. In the past he's had to remove moles, voles, shrews, birds, rabbits and even a weasel.I had never seen a weasel so close before and it was a fantastic thing to see...it was such a wonderful colour and it is so rare to actually be able to hold one and admire it's build. I was amazed that one of the cats had managed to catch one..they really are aggressive animals. But then it always amazes me when they manage to bring a rabbit back. Sometimes the rabbits are heavier than the cat itself and yet they manage to get the better of it and then they somehow manage to heave it up the tree and onto the studio roof. They really are amazing animals.

Well the coffee is calling and I have a pile of work to get on with. I hope you are all having a good day. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.
