Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. House mouse christmas wreath

Todays card involves two of my favourite things.

The christmas wreath, which I've been playing with a lot this year and house mouse. I loved this little image of the two mice cuddled with the candle. Because of the shape of the image I knew straight away that I wanted to surround them with the wreath. The house mouse image is from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse cdrom. The wreath is made up from die cuts from Crafters Companion, Joanna Sheens Signature die range and the tattered lace die range. I mix and match all my dies to get the look that I want. And now for my big news.
Well I've finally done it..I've ordered a Grand Calibur. The urge to be able to emboss A4 size sheets finally got the better of me. Last night I took a deep breath and ordered it. Hopefully it will arrive some time this week. I have looked at lots of reviews for A4 die cutting machines and the grand calibur won the review. I shall be letting you know how I get on. I know a lot of people to whom paying for this machine would be nothing...that they spend more than that on a night out..but to me it's a lot of money. I've also ordered some more dies and punches from Tonic. This will be the first time that I've used any of this range so I'll let you know how I go on. I'm so excited..I'll be twitching until they arrive.
It makes me laugh just how little it takes to get me excited..I don't want a lot in life..most of the time as long as my family and friends are well and happy, my animals are happy and healthy and I can get through the day without too much pain...then all's well with the world. My Gran used to say to remember to count your blessings every day..and I do. Small things always make me happy..I've learnt to find my joy in life..I get to see the mountains every day, watch the seasons changing and get to share the joys in my friends lives. I get to laugh at the antics of my animals, get to enjoy a good cup of coffee with a piece of cake and I get to craft. Small joys but joy non the less. So as my Gran used to say ..search for your blessings, no matter how small...you may have more than you realise
Well I hope you have a good day...take care and happy crafting.
