Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center.....An owl with dreams

For todays make I have created this little canvas using Hug the owl as the main feature. A new challenge has just begun over at Left of Center Creative Challenges...and the theme is 'Use your Skull'. It will run for a week and is the perfect time to get out your skull pictures, digis or stamps.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Limited Runs Digi's. If you get the chance, why not pop over and take a look at the wonderful artwork that is available.

For my canvas, I first painted the background using my acrylics and drew the skull. I coloured Hug with my promarkers, cut him out and placed him as if he was sitting on the skull. I then added the wording....When I grow up I want to be a raven. It just amused me that my cute looking owl could really want to be a raven with a darker side. A little strange I know but it amused me..lol

It's been a busy day today. My builder has been reattaching my banister as I managed to pull it off..lol. It is now firmly attached. He did an  amazing job...with Jeffrey helping of course. He has also bought the wood for my shelves in the parlour cupboard...I won't know myself once those shelves are in place..I've only been waiting 20 years for that cupboard to be finished..lol.

All the kittens are doing well and growing so quickly. I will try and take a photo over the weekend. I think that one of the tabbies is going to be semi long haired. The hair on his cheeks is now growing out sideways...he looks like a little tiger. Flossie is doing so well and is a joy to watch with her kittens.

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make before BT starts to play up as it often does on a Friday evening. So until later...take care and happy crafting
