Coming down out of the freezing sky
with its depths of light,
like an angel, or a Buddha with wings,
it was beautiful, and accurate,
striking the snow and whatever was there
with a force that left the imprint
of the tips of its wings — five feet apart —
and the grabbing thrust of its feet,
and the indentation of what had been running
through the white valleys of the snow —
and then it rose, gracefully,
and flew back to the frozen marshes
to lurk there, like a little lighthouse,
in the blue shadows —
so I thought:
maybe death isn’t darkness, after all,
but so much light wrapping itself around us —
as soft as feathers —
that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking,
and shut our eyes, not without amazement,
and let ourselves be carried,
as through the translucence of mica,
to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow,
that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light —
in which we are washed and washed
out of our bones.

Decoupage Delights.....Vintage Christmas
Todays cards are design team makes for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. Both of these cards are on the fabulous cdrom named Vintage Christmas. The card above is a traditional one that I love...it reminds me of the cards that were around when I was little. The image has been decoupaged and glittered. I have mounted the image onto some green card and then onto some holographic. I wanted to make it a large card, so I found some christmas themed paper from my stash and put that onto the main card. I did the same with the card below. The only difference with the one below is that I inked the edge of the backing paper with my distress ink.

Todays canvas is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and has the theme of Monsters. After all we are heading towards Halloween and I love it.
And for this weeks challenge, we are so lucky to have been sponsored by the fabulous Ikes Art.
Crafting Musketeers......Mice in the Snow
Todays card is a design team make for the fantastic teams over at the Crafting Musketeers. A new challenge has just begun and the theme is christmas ribbons. I have to admit to having a bit of a ribbon passion..lol..I think that it began when I was little and had long hair and always had a ribbon in my hair. When I see what is available these days...I would have needed a lie down to cope deciding what to wear.
We have been so lucky this month to have been sponsored by the wonderful team over at Crafty Ribbons. The variety they can supply, just takes my breath away. The design team were lucky enough to have been supplied with ribbons to use on every month that they sponsored and I have loved them all. The ribbon that I have used on my make above was one of them and it is a fabulous groos grain ribbon printed with christmas words and little trees. I love using gros grain ribbon as it holds it shape so well.
