Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Jiggery Makery...Happy Halloween

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful Jiggery Makery. I tried so hard to blog last night but of course BT weren't playing. But then I thought to myself..well make the most of it and use this card to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing , I hope that you have a fabulous time.

For this card I took the image of Tess..the glamorous witch and cut out 3 circles featuring her head and shoulders. I coloured them all differently with my promarkers and added tattoos and different makeup. I then created the two banners. I then drew 3 insects and added an orange hand. It was a fun card to make, made all the easier by the fabulous penmanship of Adele, the owner of Jiggery Makery. If you get the chance, please pop over to the Jiggery Makery facebook page and take a look at all the different pieces made by the others on the design team. What I love is the fact that we can all be given the same image and yet all come up with very different makes.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be on with some work. As I'm sit here, I can see little Fiesty sat at the front of the pen, watching the work go by. She really is a sweet little thing. All the kittens are starting to play about with each other. It is so funny to watch. It's liver and onions with mashed potato and gravy for dinner tonight..it seemed just the thing for Halloween..lol I hope that you all have a good night. Until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center...presenting Halloween

Todays make is a design team make for the fantastic team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and the theme for this week is Halloween.
We are so lucky this week to be sponsored by the wonderful team over at Delicious Doodles. As most of you will know by now, I just love the images from this store. I have done a few before and there are at least 2 more in the pipeline. If you get the chance, please pop over and take a look. There are just so many that I would love to work with.

For my canvas, I began by colouring this image. It is called Morgan Le Fay. I coloured her using my promarkers. I know I have a bit of a passion for strange coloured hair but actually my hair is green at the moment. I decided that I wanted her to look as if she was in a cave..so I set out to create one. I used paper mache and created the walls onto a canvas. I also created a bird skull to match in with the image. When my paper mache was dry, I painted it with my acrylics and added flowersoft to look like lichens and moss. I also added some flowers and small leaves. I then added my image to the middle.
I have been so busy the last few days..all of a sudden I realised that it was going to be the end of the month and I needed to upload a lot of work in readiness for new challenges beginning. This weekend, I need to finish my new house sign..it's been sitting on the couch all week waving at me saying finish me..lol

All the cats are well and the kittens are growing day by day. I will try and get the photos up this weekend. I am so lucky that I get to share in their growing up. They make me smile every day with their antics. Little Nosey is the trouble maker and has to be at the front if anything is going on..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and I have a project that I need to finish for tonight. So I shall be back later..BT willing of course. It has to have been the worst week ever for signal. The laughable thing is that it was quicker and more reliable when we had the old dial up connection. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Decoupage Delights...The Boys Dream

Here I am again. This card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. This image is from the next cd to be released and is a special Halloween treat for you all. If you pop over to the Decoupage Delights facebook page on Friday..this image and backing paper will be available as a free download. I was lucky enough to pick which image I would like to be the free download and this was it. I just love this image of the boy playing with his train and know so many gentlemen that this would be perfect for. I have talked to so many who still talk about the trains that they had as a boy. A number still have model trains and it is always so hard to find a card for them. I love the fact that it is something different from the football, boats or beer cards that the card companies think is the only things that men like. So please remember to pop over to Decoupage Delights on Friday and get your free download.

I've just bee watching the Hochanda craft channel. I was watching because Barbara Grey from Clarity Stamps was on and I just feel inspired by the lady. I have used her stamps for many years and they are as good now as when I first bought them...which is more than I can say for a lot of them. I seem to be really enjoying my stamping lately..I do go through phases..bu t that's what I love about crafting..I don't have to do the same thing all the time. I particularly love mixing lots of different techniques together.

It's getting to the time when I usually have to think about what to cook for dinner..but I already know today. We are having a chicken and vegetable pie with roast potatoes. I made it yesterday, so it's a really easy dinner for me tonight. As most of you know I love a bargain and this weeks chicken certainly was one. We had a roast chicken dinner first and then I stripped the meat from the bone  Half I put into the freezer for another night and I then I made a chicken and vegetable pie, which exceeded my expectations so half is left for tonight. I also froze the chicken bones, so that when I have another chicken, I will have enough to make some stock. So we will have had 5 nights meals and 1 soup all from one chicken. And there was plenty of meat in the pie..so how was that for a bargain..lol So all I have to do tonight is roast the potatoes and then I can get back to work. I have a lot of colouring to do tonight and tomorrow..so at least I will be quiet..lol

Well the coffee is calling again and then it will be time to feed Flossie again. I'm giving her extra because of the kittens. She is asleep at the moment..probably thinking to herself..thank goodness they're all asleep..lol. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies......A Christmas View

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. I have used some of the Hobby Art 'Scenic Stamps' to make this card. I only used one distress ink pads to make the whole image. I first stamped the image and then used some water to paint the scene. To use the distress ink as watercolour, I just stamped the pad onto my glass cutting mat and added some water using a paintbrush. I also inked the edges using my blending tool. The mat onto which I placed the scenic oval has also been coloured using my blending tool. And of course I just had to add some glitter..lol. I then added the ovals onto a card which I had covered with some blue based background paper from my stash. There is something that really appeals to me using the one colour and adding the glitter to give the whole scene a frosty morning look.

I'm amazed that I have finally got to blog. BT have been at their worst and I can feel another complaint coming on. It just seems to be getting worse by the moment and it annoys me so much. I just love being on the design teams that I'm on and spend a lot of time creating the cards and other things..yet BT are causing me real problems getting my work online. The bad language that rolls around these mountains lately has to be heard to be believed..lol. I wouldn't mind if it was bad weather or something but I think that they have no excuse..they are just happy to take my money and just don't care.

Enough of the moaning now. The kittens are making every day very special. They seem to be growing so quickly and I do believe that they are going to be big cats because their feet are enormous. Three of them have nick names depending on their personalities. There's Fiesty the black and white little girl..because that's just what she is. There is now Nosey and Bumble. Nosey is the light coloured tabby..who now spends her days at the front of the pen watching everything that is going on and Bumble is the black one. I called him Bumble because he just seems to clomp his way to the front of the pen, walking over everyone in his way and then sits there with his head wobbling. It won't be long until they start to be weaned and then goodness help me. They already seem to be showing interest in their Mums food..lol.Bumble is forever putting his feet in the milk bowl.

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make. So until then..take care and happy crafting

Jiggery Makery...Tess invites you

This card is a design team make for the great team over at Jiggery Makery. Here is the best looking witch ever..all ready to party. To make this party invitation I began by colouring Tess with my promarkers. I then cut her out and fixed her to some navy card. I then created borders on each side and added some peeloff shapes..onto which I drew little legs, so that they looked like beetles and spiders..which I thought would be perfect Halloween. I also drew some webs on the borders. I absolutely love the glamorous ladies that Adele over at Jiggery Makery creates and to have a witch that is also glamorous seems so right to me. After all if you were a witch with amazing powers..it's only right that you'd make yourself as pretty as possible to lure people in. And because she has such wonderful legs, I also gave her a garter of beetles. I had so much fun creating this invite..why not give it a try. If you get the chance ..pop over to the Jiggery Makery facebook page and take a look at all the other creations that the team have made.

I'm still drinking my coffee and thinking of making dinner. I've decided to make chicken burgers for dinner with chips and coleslaw..all homemade. I've also decided on meals for the weekend as well...fish pie tomorrow and a roast chicken dinner for Sunday. I always feel better when I have a plan..lol. It just means that once I know what I'm doing, I can plan my weekend work. And I have so much to do. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and that the weather is kind to you. It's gone really cold here..it may be time for the socks. I have a new pair which came all the way from Iceland. My friend Sunshine had a holiday there and bought me these socks back. I think it's time to stop stroking them (they are lovely) and get them on. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.....An owl with dreams

For todays make I have created this little canvas using Hug the owl as the main feature. A new challenge has just begun over at Left of Center Creative Challenges...and the theme is 'Use your Skull'. It will run for a week and is the perfect time to get out your skull pictures, digis or stamps.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Limited Runs Digi's. If you get the chance, why not pop over and take a look at the wonderful artwork that is available.

For my canvas, I first painted the background using my acrylics and drew the skull. I coloured Hug with my promarkers, cut him out and placed him as if he was sitting on the skull. I then added the wording....When I grow up I want to be a raven. It just amused me that my cute looking owl could really want to be a raven with a darker side. A little strange I know but it amused me..lol

It's been a busy day today. My builder has been reattaching my banister as I managed to pull it off..lol. It is now firmly attached. He did an  amazing job...with Jeffrey helping of course. He has also bought the wood for my shelves in the parlour cupboard...I won't know myself once those shelves are in place..I've only been waiting 20 years for that cupboard to be finished..lol.

All the kittens are doing well and growing so quickly. I will try and take a photo over the weekend. I think that one of the tabbies is going to be semi long haired. The hair on his cheeks is now growing out sideways...he looks like a little tiger. Flossie is doing so well and is a joy to watch with her kittens.

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make before BT starts to play up as it often does on a Friday evening. So until later...take care and happy crafting

A Snowflakes Promise....Curious Cats

Todays card is a design team make for the great team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next fortnight. The theme is christmas or winter as always. We are so lucky to have been sponsored this challenge by the great team over at Sami Stamps

When I saw this image of the cats, there was no other choice for me...I loved it. As most of you cat owners will know..they like nothing better than a box to play in. I had a delivery the other day and the senders had filled all the space with torn paper. The cats were in heaven but the parlour looked as if it had been stirred with a stick..lol. I am still picking up scraps of paper days later..lol. In the middle of everything, I put all the spare cat blankets in to a box and the cats haven't let it alone since. Every time I happen to glance at this box...it has a different cat in it. Tankie and Nicademus seem to be taking it in turn.
Goodness me, sometimes I'm a pratt..lol. I've been sat here for half an hour thinking just how much pain I have today and I've realised that I haven't took my pills..so I'm off to take them now....I've just taken them..it's now going to take another half an hour for them to work. I can't believe I did that..lol I did think that I was turning into a moaning minnie.
And now to the kittens...the black and white one is now called the fiesty one. 3 of the kittens now have their eyes open and are all getting bigger every day. Flossie is being so good..it's so sweet to hear her talking to them. The black kitten is the loudest except when the little tabby gets stuck on his back...then he's like a turtle and can't get himself round..and then you should hear the row..lol
Well the coffee is calling and hopefully once my tablets kick in, I'll feel like a new woman. Sparkle has just arrived so caffeine is getting nearer..lol. So I hope that you will think about entering this new challenge over at a Snowflakes Promise...I have been lucky enough to see a lot of your cards and know how good they are..well worth an entry. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery....Tess

Let me introduce Tess the witch brought to us by the very talented Adele over at Jiggery Makery. I just love the fact that she is a good looking witch. When I was child I thought that it was wrong that every witch I saw on television was an old ugly woman..that seemed so wrong.I always wanted the witches to be glamorous and finally I get to create with Tess. On this canvas, she swings about in the wind. I coloured her with my promarkers, then cut her out and suspended her on a piece of fishing line.I painted the back of the canvas frame with my acrylics and then added the banners. She will be flying around my house come this Halloween.

I'm having to blog this now rather than later. I'm supposed to blog for Jiggery Makery Later in the day, but I'm so sick of trying on a Friday night and getting nowhere. Come about 5.30p.m. my router will begin to flash as if it's a disco light and I will be lucky if I can get on during the weekend. So rather than fight the fight yet again, I'm blogging now..so no stress later

I've already decided what we are having for dinner tonight. We are having bacon with mashed potatoes and parsley sauce. It is a thing that we used to have when I was little and I can remember my Grandmother making it. I don't know why it works but it does. We used to have it with broad beans, butter beans or peas depending what was available. Perhaps it's one of those things that was a favourite where I used to live. Anyway that's what we are having and I have to say I'm really looking forward to it.

So I'm now of for another coffee and then it will be a case of getting the paints out. I hope that all the cats are settled...I don't want pawprints everywhere again..lol. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center....New Challenge

Todays canvas is a design team make for the fantastic team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and it has the theme of Old fashioned Horror. The theme will last for the next week..and it's perfect with Halloween coming along.
We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the wonderful team over at A Day For Daisies.

For my canvas I decided to work with this beautiful image of the lady and the spiders. I painted the canvas with my paints..pearlescent and acylic and then added the lady which I had coloured with my promarkers and then cut out. I then added the spider andthe web to the corner of the canvas. To me this sums up old fashioned horror which was always more in your mind than actuality. I can imagine waking covered in spiders and that is quite enough horror for me..lol This canvas is going to live in my bathroom alongside all the actual spiders that visit. I already have a spider based canvas in there...so I'm thinking that a theme is developing.

All the cats are well and the kittens seem to be growing rapidly. The smallest is still the black and white one but he seems to be the stroppy one of the bunch. When I pick him up to check him..he spits and hisses..how's that for 7 days old. He's not scared at all...goodness what he will be like when he grows up. The tabby kitten that has colouring most like his Mum, is the one that wants to be out..even though he can't see yet he makes his way to the front of the pen. I'm hoping that my friend Pretty will be here for the first days of weaning..it is the hardest and the funniest time with kittens.Pretty is very good at catching them when they run off..lol He's had years of experience..lol

Well the coffee is calling and Virgo man is here hoovering for me..bless him. I've got lots of painting to do this weekend..I'm hopefully going to do the new house sign..I've decided that I'm going to do orange flowers for Henry and a skull because he loved them so much. Something different I think.I will be back later with another design team make. So until then...take care and happy crafting.

Decoupage Delights.....Vintage Christmas

Todays cards are design team makes for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. Both of these cards are on the fabulous cdrom named Vintage Christmas. The card above is a traditional one that I love...it reminds me of the cards that were around when I was little. The image has been decoupaged and glittered. I have mounted the image onto some green card and then onto some holographic. I wanted to make it a large card, so I found some christmas themed paper from my stash and put that onto the main card. I did the same with the card below. The only difference with the one below is that I inked the edge of the backing paper with my distress ink.

The card above is the type of christmas card that I get asked for lots of times. I get a lot of requests for a traditional church image from my customers who want a card suitable for their friends that attend the same church. The layers of decoupage are so easy to cut and really help add to the effect.
I do hope that you will pop over to the Decoupage Delights face book page and take a look at the fabulous offers that they have on at the moment. I have all their cds and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them...the variety on them is fantastic.

I'm so surprised that I'm able to blog today. Ever since Friday last week I've probably only had about half an hour of internet. I don't know what has been going on with BT..they are slowly driving me insane. Yesterday, I have to say was the worst it had ever been. I couldn't get on at all.So I'm feeling very lucky today.

I want to say a big thankyou to everyone that has messaged me about the kittens. They are all doing well and Flossie has been amazing. She is a very protective Mother and is looking after them all so well. Any day now they will be opening their eyes..and then the fun will begin...lol. I have had a look and as far as I can see they are all boys. Goodness help us all. All the other cats have been and had a look. Reg has been the funniest of all the animals. He was the first to go and investigate and Flossie bless her came to the front of the pen and made a fuss of him. Reg licked her..he does love the cats. People have always commented that it so strange to see how much the cats love him. Some even go out with him for a walk when he goes out with the dog walkers. He has to check the kittens every day..it does make me smile.

Well the coffee is calling and I've two projects that I have to finish. The parlour is looking as if it has been stirred with a stick..lol. In my own defence I have been painting, glittering and molding paper, decorating cards and it seems as if every box that can possibly be out is currently around my feet. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.Just keep your fingers crossed that I can find the parlour under everything..lol.

Left of Center....New Challenge.

Todays cards are design team makes for the fabulous Left of Center Creative Challenges.
A new challenge has just begun and the theme for this week is to use the sketch below. I have used the sketch for the first two cards and as you also have the chance to go LOC with any entry, I decided to go LOC with the third card.
We are lucky this week to have two sponsors. The first sponsor is the wonderful team over at the East Wind and the two first cards are from that company. They have such a range of wonderful images
Our second sponsor and the creator of the wonderful image below is Poppyseed Graphics.
I loved working with all three of these images and had so much fun. I hope that you will pop over and take a look at the challenge blog...the other members of the design team have created some wonderfully inspiring work...I know that I always so enjoy looking at what they create. Why not join in the fun?
I have to say that I'm feeling absolutely worn out. It was officially emergency ward 10 here last night. Flossie went into labour and it was a case of rubber gloves on and sit by her. Bless her she was really good but insisted that I rub her tummy the whole time and talk to her. She delivered 4 beautiful kittens and all seems well this afternoon. She has had 2 tabby kittens , 1 black and white and 1 black.
The black one was the first born and the biggest kitten I have ever seen. As soon as he was born he headed straight to the milk and has the loudest wail of them all. I don't think he has left the milk bar since he was born. Flossie is being really good with them and is forever washing and directing them. She has been so good and let me move them all this morning so I could clean the pen...and now they are all lay by her and she has her leg over them, making mummy noises. All the other cats have been over and had a look. Even Reg had to go to the pen and take a look at what was making all the noise..lol
Well the coffee is definitely calling...I think that I'm on my fifth mug..lol. I will definitely sleep well tonight. My legs are killing me today...I've had as many painkillers that I can have until later and yet I feel as if I haven't had any. I'll be back later with another design make..so until later...take care and happy crafting

JB-Crafting Supplies....Sheep in Sunshine

Todays card is a design team make for the great company of JB-Crafting Supplies. I should have done it  yesterday but BT were not playing . The card above has been made using the stamp set from Hobby Art featuring the sheep which I intend to use on my Christmas cards, but I can think of so many times that I could use this image. For this card, I began creating the background oval. I drew some grass and flowers and added a little sparkle. I coloured it with my copics. I stamped out the sheep, the hat and the sunglasses..they were also coloured with my copics. I then cut them all out and added them to the oval. I then mounted it onto some dark blue card along with some backing paper from my stash.

It's a strange day today. I had the nurse first thing for my bloods and then I had a delivery from Sainsburys. I have done a basket comparison with Tesco and very surprisingly Sainsburys came in a lot cheaper. So I ordered from there. The biggest difference was the cat food and as you can guess..I buy rather alot. I'm so lucky that I don't have fussy cats. I know so many people that do have and have heard so many tales of cats pulling faces when confronted with certain brands. I think my cats work on the theory that before they came here they had to search for food..so now it's given at regular points through the day..they'd better eat it..lol. I also think that competition helps...if they don't eat it..some one else might..lol Flossie seems to be growing bigger daily..I don't think that she will be that long until the big moment...bless her. Just keep your fingers crossed that it all goes well. I just worry what happened to her before she came here. She is so loving and desperate for fuss. Sometimes I wish that I had a good leg to kick people with. How dare they just dump her.

Well the coffee is calling...today seems to have gone on forever..it must just be one of those days..lol. It's fish, new potatoes and salad for dinner. One of my favourites. My menus will be changing as the weather gets colder. The slow cooker will be dusted off and back on again..my friends laugh how I play spot the meat..I throw every type of vegetable I can get my hands on in...and a very small amount of meat..lol. It makes it go so much further.  So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

A Snowflakes Promise...The Christmas Cat

Todays card is a design team make for the fabulous A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next 2 weeks. As always the theme is Christmas/Winter. I do hope that you will pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at all the wonderful creations made by the other members of the team. And if you have a chance why not join the Snowflakes Promise Facebook page.

For this fortnights challenge, we have been lucky enough to have been sponsored by the fantastic team  over at SLS Lines. The selection of images that they have ready to purchase are amazing. I always get into a flap trying to decide which to use. They are all so inspiring.

I of course had to choose this fabulous cat. She is called Princess Spoiled Cat and even though I have used her to decorate a Christmas card..she would be ideal to use all year round. She just has such a happy expression...just like a cat imagining her christmas dinner. My cat Jeffrey comes to mind..lol
On my card I have layered christmas coloured card and christmas paper. I coloured her with my promarkers and decorated the card with a christmas ribbon.

Well the coffee is calling and I will be back shortly with another design team make. I so enjoy creating for all the teams. I love the fact that they are all so different and I get to work with lots of different craft products. Sparkle has just arrived so I'll definitely get a brew..lol. So until later..take care and happy crafting.

Gruffies and Guests....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the fabulous team over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog. A new challenge has just begun and has the theme of embossing..wet or dry. As always your entry must feature a Gruffie, Happy Hopper or House Mouse. But seeing just how cute they all are..it's not hard. The challenge will run for a month and there will be a half way reminder. I do hope that you will pop along and take a look at all the wonderful work that has been created by the other members of the team. They always manage to inspire me.

The challenge this month has been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I have been lucky enough to work with a number of their images and have loved every one of them. The hardest thing is deciding which one you want to work with first. Why not pop over and take a look.

For my card I began with this cute image of the little House Mouse asleep on a freesia. I added the image and the backing paper onto some golden yellow card. I also embossed and mounted some card which I had inked onto some of the same. I added ribbons on the left hand side and on the bottom of the card and created a bow in the corner. I added a greeting, which was also on the sheet that I printed out. The image and the backing paper both come from the House Mouse triple cd rom brought to us crafters by Joanna Sheen.

It's quite chilly here in the mountains today. We have had our first frosts..Autumn has arrived. I do feel a little cheated that we didn't really have a summer but there you go. The cats have at least managed to have a few days sunning themselves. Flossie is doing ok...eating for 23 I think..lol It must be getting closer...she is sleeping more and more. She is really pretty..I must take a picture of her for you. All is quiet at the moment...all cats have full tummies and are all quiet. I have to make the most of it...lol. Later on I will be feeling as if I'm sitting on a roundabout with the cats circling me. Tankie is the worst..she will go out and come back in and carry on this way for hours. She is stuck because she likes to see what is going on outside and inside at the same time..lol She is just so nosey.

Well the coffee is calling and there is some painting waiting to be done. Some days there is nothing I like better than getting messy with my paints. That reminds me that I must find my apron...I have lost count of the number of tops that I've ruined using them for painting and such like. So I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend. Until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery...The Sewing Room

For todays design team make for Jiggery Makery, I'm sharing a previous make because a lady that reads my blog emailed me about her sewing room and I spoke to her about making a sign for her room. I was laughing because even though I have the sign, I'm yet to have the room. She has a room but no sign. Isn't that the way that life goes..lol
I just loved this Jiggery Makery lady and knew as soon as I saw her that she would make the perfect sign for my proposed sewing room. I have to admit to never looking as good sat in mine..lol And in this cottage it's never warm enough to float around in your underwear..even in Summer..lol
If you get the chance, why not pop over to the Jiggery Makery page and take a look at all the glamorous ladies. There is bound to be one that you know you could use straight away. After being lucky enough to work with these ladies for a while..I get to the point where I can imagine their personalities. Sad as it seems..they all make me smile..and I can always know which friend would love to receive which one. And there's more than one that I know would be suitable for sending a cheeky card to a male friend..lol
Well the coffee is still calling and this time my friend Sparkle is in charge of the kettle. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend..so until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center....An Angel Weeps

Todays canvas is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and has the theme of Monsters. After all we are heading towards Halloween  and I love it.

And for this weeks challenge, we are so lucky to have been sponsored by the fabulous Ikes Art.

For this canvas, I painted the background with my acrylics and pearlescent paints. I coloured the angel using my copics and promarkers. I found the quote and added that on some black card.I love the way that the angel is poised on the rock, contemplating I think on the monsters that can be human. Strange I know..but some of the greatest fear, the greatest horror and the greatest anguish that I have known, as come at the hands of man. And that's why I count my blessings every day. My friends, my animals and where I live always give me hope. I found a quote which I loved concerning hope. It said that it means..hang on,pain ends. I will have to find a way to use it.

Well Virgo man has just arrived..the perfect timing for another coffee..lol. As a car needs fuel..I need my caffeine..lol. I will be back later with another design team make. I hope that you are all having a good day. I hope my friend Sunshine is having a great holiday...in the sun hopefully. So until later..take care and happy crafting.

Crafting Musketeers......Mice in the Snow

Todays card is a design team make for the fantastic teams over at the Crafting Musketeers. A new challenge has just begun and the theme is christmas ribbons. I have to admit to having a bit of a ribbon passion..lol..I think that it began when I was little and had long hair and always had a ribbon in my hair. When I see what is available these days...I would have needed a lie down to cope deciding what to wear.

We have been so lucky this month to have been sponsored by the wonderful team over at Crafty Ribbons. The variety they can supply, just takes my breath away. The design team were lucky enough to have been supplied with ribbons to use on every month that they sponsored and I have loved them all. The ribbon that I have used on my make above was one of them and it is a fabulous groos grain ribbon printed with christmas words and little trees. I love using gros grain ribbon as it holds it shape so well.

For my card I decided to use this little House Mouse image brought to us crafters by Joanna Sheen. It is from the Triple House Mouse cd and features lots of images from the ever talented Ellen Jareckie. As most of you will know..I love all the creatures featured in the House Mouse collection..as well as the Gruffies and Happy Hoppers.I mounted the image and the backing paper onto some silver holographic.I also created a border, to which I added my special ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I finally added some card candy all over the card.
Well the coffee is calling and I will be later with more design team makes. It's a busy day today. All the cats are sleeping off their breakfasts still. It never ceases to amaze me just how much they put away and they greet me every morning like they've never been fed..lol. They are having a special treat this week with all fish meals..it's absolute mayhem with me trying to get the food out of the tin and all the cats trying to get it out even quicker..I have the scratches to prove it..lol Of them all I think that Nicademus is the worst culprit. He virtually tries to get his head into the tin as I'm trying to get it out. If you could see all my cats you would have no doubt that they have more than enough food but always just act as if they are all starving..lol  While I have a little peace, I'm off to grab my caffeine hit..so until later..take care and happy crafting.
