Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. SLS Lines...New Releases

Today's creations are design team makes for the wonderful team at SLS Lines. Today is new release day..so I get to feature 2 new additions to the amazing selection at the SLS Lines etsy shop. Above is another to one of my favourite types...the cats. I just loved the little mouse sat on the handlebars giving the devil horns..it just makes me smile. For the picture above..I coloured the image with my promarkers and drew the words and then cut them out and added to the canvas. The words are from a poem which I must find and share with you. The poem just encourages you to enjoy every minute of the life we are given.

The second image has caused quite a stir with some of my friends. Some of them remember a song that mentions a technicolour yawn and they say this is the perfect picture. I think that this can also be a focus of looking at things differently. Always look for the positive. I had to smile while I was colouring this as I needed to remember the order in which the rainbow colours belong...the only trouble with this is that I sing the song wrong..lol. My friend helped by remembering the way he remembered at school..Richard of York gave battle in vain...isn't it funny how some things stop with us. Especially me who has been singing a song wrong for many years....and no matter how many times I try to get it right..it just doesn't help..lol

So I hope that you will pop over to the SLS Lines Etsy shop and take a look at the wide range of fantastic images that are available. I think that it is the difference of what is available that makes SLS so outstanding. Whether traditional or something way out there...the range is truly amazing and also the fact that new releases are added every month..makes SLS the place to watch.

It seems so strange to be blogging on a Sunday..it's something that I don't do very often but I have to say I'm quite enjoying it today. The sun is shining here in the mountains but goodness me it's windy. The mountains do look amazing with the sun shining on them...to be able to see clearly all the different shades of green, somehow lifts my spirits. I managed yesterday to finally and for the last time to empty the huge cupboard in the parlour. I am waiting for it to be shelved and then finally I will be able to put all my plastic boxes away and in order. I can't wait. I am itching to be able to sort all my stamps out..I am so enjoying stamping at the moment. The one box that I can't seem to find is the one that holds all my spray inks and mica powders. It is in here somewhere..I can only think that it behind the settee..I shall have a good look when the cupboard is finished. I have also lost 2 new stencils..I'm just hoping that I haven't posted them off somewhere by mistake...lol.I'm really annoyed with myself over losing them as I have had plans to use them...hopefully they will turn up.

Well the coffee is calling and I shall be drinking it whilst watching the triathlon..and then the gymnastics..a happy afternoon for me. I have to say that of course there is the ever present sound of crashing as the kittens do their thing..lol. Never is there a quiet moment here..lol So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.
