Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. SLS Lines.....Inspiration Post

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful team over at SLS Lines. As I said last week ,my projects tend to begin with a thought. And this was no different. As many of you know, I am a bit of a crazy cat lady and I just adore all the cat images available at SLS. As I was looking through the images wondering what to pick, I came across this little chap..Grumpy Cat. It made me giggle because I was looking at one of my cats who is actually called Twinkle and is the most bad tempered cat you could wish to meet..so in that moment the inspiration appeared

For this project, I began by creating the background. I had a piece of grey board which I coloured with my acrylics and then dabbed over the top using my starlight paint. I coloured the cat with my promarkers and then cut him out and added him to the background. I finally added the sentiment. I also added some glossy accents to his eyes.

This whole project has made me laugh because how many times I've seen cats that just don't suit there names. And I can imagine that this featured cat would just hate being called Twinkle..lol

I hope that you will pop over to the etsy shop and take a look at all the wonderful images that are available...and perhaps you will have an inspirational thought of your own...and who knows where it will take you.

The sun is shining here in the mountains today..so all the cats are outside, which leaves me with the kittens. I am hoping that it will soon be going for a nap time..lol. I'm hoping for a little bit of peace today so that I can work on my latest watercolouring project. Kittens and watercolours can drive you insane..paw prints are not what you want in your wet paint..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make..I just need an injection of caffeine..lol. So until later...take care and happy crafting.
