Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. The Crafting Musketeers...Autumnal Colours

Today's card is a design team make for the fabulous team at the Crafting Musketeers Challenge Blog. A new challenge has just begun, taking the theme of Autumnal Colours. I just love the colourways that you can use and the rest of the team have made some wonderful creations...why not pop over and take a look. For this months challenge, we are lucky enough to have been sponsored by the great team over at The Oak House Studio.
For my card I have used this fabulous image drawn by the amazing artist..Linda Ravenscroft. I have decoupaged the image  and mounted it onto some burgundy card. I have mounted the backing paper onto the same. I created a border and filled that with diecut leaves which I painted to match in with the colours in the image.I finally added a couple of jewels and a ribbon.

I just love the colours that will soon be coming to the trees. It seems strange to be thinking of autumn when we don't seem to have had a summer...lol. The weather here in the mountains can't make it's mind up what it wants to do. It's been raining off and on. What this means is that the cats don't know what to do for the best. They are in and out of the window (cat flap..lol) like a bunch of yo-yos. It's so hard trying to work around all the coming and going.

Well the coffee is calling and I shall have to sort my corner out. As I'm working I have a tendency to pile everything by my side..which now has turned into a tumbling pile..lol. I definitely think that caffeine will be needed to give me a little extra boost before I begin to sort out the chaos. So until later..take care and happy crafting.
