Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Gruffies and Guests....Making it Fruity

Todays card is a design team make for the fabulous team over at the Gruffies and Guests. This challenge blog features only creations using a Gruffie, Happy Hopper or House Mouse images. As you all know by now, I just adore all things House Mouse related and have a very special love of the Happy Hoppers. I can't remember a time when I didn't love rabbits and the Happy Hoppers have just the right amount of cute
.

For this months challenge we are lucky enough to have been sponsored by the wonderful team over at Dis Digis. They will be providing this months wonderful prize.

The theme for this months challenge is..Make it Fruity. For my card, I picked this lovely image of a happy hopper enjoying some watermelon. This image is from the Gruffies and Happy Hoppers cdrom brought to us crafters by the wonderful Joanna Sheen. As with all the house mouse images, the gruffies and happy hoppers are brought to us via the paint brush of Ellen Jareckie. I would be happy if I only had 10% of this ladies talent.

On my card, I first mounted the backing paper and the image onto some burgundy card. I created a border with the same. On the sheet that I printed out the greeting was in a watermelon slice shape, so of course I had to use it. I die cut some flowers and coloured them to match with my promarkers. I finally added a green ribbon.

It's a lovely day here in the mountains today. I have to say that the cats as a group are all sulking. My friend was picking up some extra catfood for me and was supposed to bring it last night but things happened and he's bringing it today. Consequently there was no wet food for breakfast...so they are all sulking , sat round the food tray..lol. I wouldn't mind but this is the first time in ages that I have ran out of food and they also have bowls of dry cat food downstairs..and if you saw them all you would know they are not starving..but try telling them..lol. Even the new lady Flossie is having a moan at me. Jeffrey is not well and he is also complaining on the wait for the food. He went out last night and must have got into yet another fight. He has been bitten on one of his front legs and is currently limping around. He brought his leg to me to sort out and as I was examining him he was purring..bless him. I think it will take a couple of days to go down and now he just smells of TCP....the antiseptic..I must add..lol

Well the coffee is calling and still my pile of work is sitting to be worked through. I hope that the weather is being kind to you wherever you are and that you have a great weekend. If you get the chance, don't forget to pop over to the challenge at Gruffies and Guests. The other members of the design team have created some wonderful items..well worth a look. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.
