Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Sundays Angel

I was looking through the cards that I made in the last six months and I came across this one. It was a very simple card but I still love it. The image is from the Aspire range..the frame is from the same as well.

Today has been lovely. I had a surprise visit from some friends. She had just come back from America and came loaded with a bag of American goodies. I will have to ration myself..lol. By my side as I write this I have Reeses pieces,  twinkies and hohos. I have to admit to the reeses pieces being my favourites..I'm allowing myself 3 a day. Failing that my sugar high would be so high I'd end up in outer space..lol. The other present I got was a recipe book from Disney Land. There are some great typically american recipes..buttermilk fried chicken and sweet potato pancakes with a honey pecan sauce..to name but a few. It's a fab book and I shall be putting it with my collection of other books from across the globe. For a woman who doesn't leave the house much..I can cook you a recipe from many different cultures. It always amazes me how different cultures have very similar foods but using ingredients native to them. Every country has some sort of pasty..whether large or small..but they have something wrapped in a pastry or dough. I can't wait to get back into cooking properly when my kitchen is finished.

Well I hope that you are having a great weekend..time just goes by so quickly. The coffee is calling and maybe just one more reeses piece..so until tomorrow take care and happy crafting
