Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Daisy chain

Today I thought that I would share a small canvas that I have made. I made this for a design team make for the wonderful team at JB-Crafting supplies. I have used a stamp sheet from Joanna Sheen. I stamped, coloured and then cut out the daisies, stems and leaves. I first coloured a small canvas with blue acrylic and when it had dried I added the daisies. I then used one of my favourite Oscar Wilde quotes, adding it to a torn piece of blue paper. There is something that always reminds me of childhood when I look at daisies. I can remember making lots of daisy chains with my friends and we would sit draped with them.

Only a short one for today as I'm waiting for the nurse and social services are coming later as well. I can't say that I'm in the mood for either but we shall have to see how it all goes. I keep telling social services that I can't get up to the quarry to throw myself off even though I now have a wheelchair..lol..but they just won't listen. I'm sure they only come out so that they can tick their little boxes and let's be honest by the time they've come out here that's their afternoon done with. A nice trip out for them..I just wished that they liked the cats a bit more..lol

I will let you know how it all goes tomorrow..so until then take care and happy crafting...I'm off for a coffee before they get here.
