Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Snowflakes Promise...New Challenge

Here I am again. This time with a design team make for the wonderful team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the coming fortnight. The theme is anything goes with the option of seasons. As you can see I have chosen this wonderful little fox and gone with a Christmas card.I coloured the image with my promarkers and then mounted it onto some green glitter card. I added this to the card base to which I had added some green card and then some Christmas paper from my stash. I added a die cut greeting to some more of the glitter card. I finally added a die cut bauble which I had mounted onto a different glitter card. You know me and glitter..lol. Someone visited yesterday and asked did I know that I was covered in glitter...I just laughed and said that it was the season for it. I remember once going round a supermarket, getting really strange looks and then I realised that I was covered in glitter. The original disco diva..lol.

Over at A Snowflakes Promise. we were so lucky to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at Oddball Art. I hope that you will pop over and take a look at all the wonderful images that are available.

I'm sat here wondering what to do next. I have a few projects waiting to be finished..so the paint may well be coming out. No doubt that means that the cats will be finding their way back in. It's as if word gets out..the paint is out and then the pawprints start twitching to get into it..lol. The only two in at the moment is Raven and Gannie. Rave..my little homebody is asleep on my legs..like an automatic heater..lol. Gannie is doing what he does best..filling his face with cat biscuits.

Well the coffee is calling again. As a caffeine addict, I need refuelling at regular intervals. Someone once asked me if I was really such a coffee head and I said of course. It's what keeps me going..I've been drinking it for years..and I don't even like myself when I run out..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting

Left of Center.....New Challenge

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next week. The theme for this new challenge is 'fiesty ladies'..so you can have a lot of fun with this challenge. My take on being fiesty is a lady that says what she thinks when she wants to..by the same token she may think something but not say it out loud..after all it's all down to her. Both my images were coloured by my promarkers..if you look closely, they are actually 2 different images..it's all in the mouth.

As always, you have the choice of going LOC instead of joining in with the theme. For all details about that..please refer to the main LOC blog. I had every intention of blogging last night when the blog went live but as always BT were not playing. I have a meeting with the director of BT for Wales in a couple of weeks..I'm hoping that they will finally sort out the mess that is the local internet service..after all we have to pay the same amount as everyone else but have the worst connection in the country. So please keep your fingers crossed for me...I will let you know how it all goes.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous Oddball Art. If you get the chance I hope that you will pop over and take a look at all the images that are available.

The sun is shining here today in the mountains. It seems such a surprise after the weather that we had yesterday. The mist and the rain took over everything yesterday and I had a house full of sulking cats..lol. Today, they have all left the premises. The builder is laying my new carpet at the other end of the kitchen to the lino. The working end of the kitchen has new lino down and the rest will now have a burgundy and gold carpet down. I won't know myself. Such is my excitement..I have the intention to steam clean the cooker..so think of me. I'm going to new heights..lol. I wonder what the cats will make of yet another carpet. Gannie and Jeffrey have been keeping an eye on the builder...Gannie especially has had a grand time rolling on the carpet..lol.

That time of year has arrived and it will be soon time to seriously think about Christmas cards. Hopefully this year I'm going to be organised..I'm looking at ordering the ink and gems that I'll need. I've spent about 4 hours looking at gems for sale and have made myself go a little cross eyed.I just wonder just how many shades of blue you can buy..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be back to gem time. I hope that wherever you are, the weather is being kind to you and that you have a great weekend. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

A Snowflakes Promise.............New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the great team over at a Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun, and will run for the next fortnight. I have to say that as I'm trying my hardest to type there is a little Nosey trying his hardest to pad my arm..lol..I think that he thinks he's helping. The challenge is an Anything goes with always the option of going Christmas.

We are so lucky at this challenge to have been sponsored by the wonderful team over at Oddball Art. If you get the chance..why not pop over and take a look at all the wonderful artwork that they have available.

The sun is shining again here in the mountains and everyone seems to be making the most of it.Nosey has now moved on to my chest and is trying his hardest to help me type..lol.All this is accompanied by a really loud purr. He still comes to the bathroom with me and always tries to flush the toilet...whether I'm ready or not. I've noticed that every bank holiday I seem to lose days and seem to be playing catch up for the following week. I had a lovely bank holiday though..only a couple of chainsaw sessions for a while and the rest of the time I was crafting listening to the birdsong. As I'm sitting here I can hear lots of birds but also the long standing cuckoo. For the last week that's all you can hear in the distance. It's a wonder that he doesn't run out of voice. He seems to be able to keep going for hours. I was amazed the other day to read on facebook some ladies complaining about the birdsong..I suppose I must be lucky because it's never bothered me . I once had a woodpecker that used to arrive on the bedroom windowsill and peck away at 6 every morning. I saw it as a joy because I got to see this wonderful bird close up. Mind you I also love the sound of peacocks. We used to have them when I was younger and always found it to be a rather other worldly sound.

Well the coffee is calling as normal and I'm waiting for the postman to call. I'm waiting for some parcels to arrive...crafting goodies..so I'm very excited to say the least. One of the things is my favourite inkpads..one of the distress inkpads. I have had to replace one because I managed..I say I but it was really one of the kittens..lol..to knock the inkpad into my coffee. I thought that I had saved it quickly enough but when I came to use it..it had gone mouldy..I was horrified..so needless to say it went into the bin and a new one had to be ordered. It had to be the one that I use the most. Anyway I shall be sipping my coffee waiting for the postman to arrive. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.......New Challenge

Today's canvas is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next week. The theme for this week is big eyes. You can of course go LOC..all details of that can be found on the LOC blog. I do hope that you will pop over to the blog and take a look at all the creations that the other members of the team have made. There is some amazing work and I always find the ladies to be a constant source of inspiration. And why not join in the fun yourself?
We are so lucky to have been sponsored by the fantastic team over at The Oddball Art Stamps. If you are looking for something a little different, it's the perfect place to visit. There are fabulous images and of course I just had to choose the coffee fixation one.You all know me and my caffeine addiction..lol

I woke up this morning to snow...not a lot but the world was white. It has shocked the cats. It always makes me laugh to watch the cats trying to get from A to B without their paws touching the snow. At the moment it's raining..nothing new there but it's still cold. As I glance around the parlour, all I can see is sleeping little furry bodies. It's so quiet...I just wish they were this quiet in the middle of the night. For the third night in a row, I've been found sitting in a chair having a warm drink, waiting for the tabby terrorists to lie down and shut up..lol. It seems to me that 3.30 a.m. is their best time to play..but goodness me ...the noise they make. You would think that a herd of beasts were charging around. I do indulge my cats a little..lol...but the middle of the night is not the time for play. My poor legs feel as if they've done a marathon...they need a good sleep.

Well the coffee is calling and Sparkle has just arrived...so the kettle will be going on. I've made my list of work for the weekend..I'm hoping that the sewing machine will be coming out. And I'm hoping to get some more sorting out done..my glitters are all over the place..I'm hoping to make some sort of glitter station..a place where they can all live...the dry, the wet, the stickles..all in one place. My friend Pretty cannot believe just how many colours I have..my answer..well you never know...lol
I will be back later with another design team make..so until then...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center....Oddball Art

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun, which will run for the next week. The theme is 'Rip it up, Tear it up'.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the great team over at Oddball Art Stamps. So many great designs...why not pop over and take a look at their etsy shop.

On my card, to create the background I began with a piece of dark blue card. I then took 4 pieces of co-ordinating paper, ripping them into strips and added them onto the blue card. I then took my image and coloured it with my promarkers, cut it out and then mounted it onto some more of the co-ordinating paper and mounted that onto another piece of the dark blue card. I then cut some arrows out of one of the papers and used them to point to the sentiment, which I also had mounted onto some of the blue card. It is an unusual make for me but I so enjoyed it and I know lots of people who would find this really funny. Sometimes it's just so nice to step out of your comfort zone and see what you can create.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and all the cats have gone out. A little peace but who knows just how long it will last..lol. I've found myself really down this week..but I've come to expect it every so often. I think that it must be part of the grieving process but it certainly drains me when it comes upon me. The hardest thing that I find is trying to find a way to get my mind out of the fug. Thank goodness for crafting. I've arranged a whole weekend of workto keep me busy. If in doubt..craft...lol.

Well the coffee is calling and Virgo has just arrived to fit Flossie with a sleeping platform. So I'd better go and sort Flossie out. So until later..take care and happy crafting.
