Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Jiggery Makery....Through the Window

Today's cards are both design team makes for the wonderful Jiggery Makery. These cards came into being because of my friend Sunshine. We were talking about how different people see something different looking at the same thing. She said she had always thought that this lady from Jiggery Makery was looking out of a window. And I thought to myself that I could make that happen...so I have. It took a lot of hunting through my stamps to find something suitable but it was all great fun.

I used a stamp from Flowersoft for the actual window and used stamps from Hobby Art to create the scenes. I am now looking through my other stamps to find some more different types of window. I have placed this wonderful Jiggery Makery lady to the side of the window..so she does look as if she is looking through it. I am having to type using one hand as Nosey has decided that he wants to sit under my chin and give me lots of love.I am being padded within an inch of my life..lol.

If you get the chance, please pop over to the Jiggery Makery facebook page and take a look at all the fabulous ladies that are available. As you can see from today's cards..you can find a lady to make whatever style of card you want.

The weather is quite nice today...all the other cats are outside. Every so often there is a large thud..and that is all down to Simon. For some reason...only known to himself Simon has decided that he isn't coming onto the studio roof by means of the tree.as every other cat in the world does. He has decided that he would sooner go to the back of the house..get onto the roof and arrive on the studio roof by means of jumping off the house roof. The first time he did it I thought that it was a one off...but no..he now does it about twenty times a day...marked by a thud on the studio roof..lol. He is definitely one on his own.

Well the coffee is calling and I think I need a good dose of caffeine. I am working on some card ideas...I can drive myself crazy when I have an idea...I just need to make the original idea and see where it goes. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

New Home Card

Todays little joy is to celebrate a friends new house. I just loved these stamps from Polka Doodles. I coloured the images with promarkers. I added flowersoft to give a little texture on the trees and garden paths. It was a fun card to make using different papers from the Polka Doodles "Sundae of Seasons" This is such a great cdrom and I find myself going back to it time and time again for all the different papers. I use cdroms alot...sometimes for the images and sometimes when I'm looking for a different paper. I know alot of crafters that just use their cdroms for the image and matching backing papers and that's it. I love to look at the images and see it as a design feature for the card and what I really enjoy is doing the decoration..sometimes using embellishments from my stash or more than likely making my own. I love my collection of cdroms and as a crafter they are my largest resource. I can't seem to get on very well with card kits because i always feel as if too much as been done for me. Having so much done seems to stifle something in my brain. I think it's down to the fact that I like fiddling about and starting with a blank piece of paper,,some stamps and whatever colouring medium I fancy is the way to go for me. I always buy stamps that I feel I can use in lots of different ways, one of them as an addition to an image from a cdrom. I'm off now to make a start on an atc...so out will come the inks and the jewels. I will share when it's finished. Lets get crafting.
