Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. JB Crafting Supplies...A Fairy Pocket

Today's design team make is something a little different for me. This is a hanging pocket which I made using this fabulous kit available from Julie over at JB-Crafting Supplies. For all details on how I made it..please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog. This is intended to sit on the back of my bedroom door to hold my scarf collection. At the moment, my scarves are suffering from kitten play. They like nothing better than swinging on them and if they can possibly have a good chew...all the better..lol. I have one scarf..brown with gold threads..sounds strange I know but I have had it since the early eighties and it has special memories. Well it now has a chew hole thanks to Gannie. I really enjoyed making this fairy pocket..everything for the design came on one strip..with instructions included and I just had to choose a backing fabric and get some interfacing and some wadded. I completed the whole thing in a couple of afternoons and loved every minute. I used to do a lot of sewing and haven't done any for ages but now the bug is back.

It's very cold here in the mountains today. There was a frost last night so it was really nippy and now even though the sun is shining it's still cold. Most of the cats have gone out and for once the kittens are having a nap. I just wish that they would have a nap at bedtime..lol. As I lie in bed..all I can hear is the thumping of little feet up and down stairs.

Well the coffee is calling as normal and I shall be back in a bit with another design team make. The cats have just started to come back in, bringing chaos with them...lol. I hope that the caffeine will help me to create some order..if not it will at least give me a little perk. So until after...take care and happy crafting.
