Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. JB-Crafting Supplies.....Orange Flowers

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I stamped the flower heads using my memento inkpad and coloured them just using 3 colours of promarkers. I then used 2 colours of Stickles glitter glue.I  have really enjoyed playing making this card and have carried on to make other cards using the same idea. I'm also intending to make this in different colourways. If you need any products for your crafting or sewing projects, then please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies online shop. And don't forget the facebook page which is updated all the time with new products coming in.

I'm so enjoying crafting today..it's one of the few days that all the cats are asleep and leaving me in peace...goodness only knows just how long it will last...lol. I managed to start the moving round yet again in the parlour and I've yet to finish. I moved a chest of drawers in to hold some of my stamps and moved round the window. Here in the cottage there is a deep window sill and it gets full of stuff..it's all my own fault..but now it has all been cleared and my skull collection is now there in place.I am in the process of sorting out all my crafting collection and I have to say that the kittens have been helping. Last night Gannet took off with a bag of my ribbons..I just spotted him racing out of the room with the bag in his mouth. Consequently I have been picking up my ribbons all day..it seems that they all had a fabulous time. I have to admit to cursing them all because the bag was filled with brand new ribbons..it had only arrived at the house on Saturday. I think that I overdid it at the weekend..my legs are still hurting..so for today, I'm concentrating on crafting with my legs up on a stool. And then tomorrow I'll be back to it. My list of things to do seems to continue to grow.

I had to laugh at the cats on Saturday. I had just moved the chest of drawers into the parlour and had decided to put a lace cloth on the top..I should have known it would be a problem. The minute I put the cloth on, I turned my back and when I turned round there was 3 cats lying on it..lol. So rather than leave them to it, I placed an antique tray on top, so that the lace cloth was safe from the furry terrorists. As I'm writing I'm thinking of what still needs to be done..my legs had better improve. I have also managed to start in my bedroom..my new bed is imminent..I can't wait. I'm hoping to be able to move the old bed out and get to painting my bedroom..I already have the paint..it's a very dark red. I have some gold sconces which will be going up as well..all my frames are gold as well..it might look a little gypsy I hope when it's finished. My collection of angels is going to be on shelf that surrounds the bed. Plans, plans,plans..there will be a lot of caffeine needed me thinks..lol

Well I spoke of it and now it's needed. The caffeine is calling and I have a couple of projects to finish. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery..A woman with attitude

Here I am again..earlier than I thought. Seeing as BT seems to be on a quick moment, I thought that I'd better blog whilst they were letting me..lol..This card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Jiggery Makery. The lady that I've used today is probably one of my favourites. I just love her attitude and every time I work with her I begin to think of yet another way of using her. She is called Jayne and is available from the Jiggery Makery page. Please pop over and take a look at the wonderful creations made by other members of the team. For this card, the backing paper is from my stash. I have coloured Jayne with my promarkers and have glittered her dress using a wet glitter.

The weather in the mountains today seems to be playing a right game with everyone. If you look out of the window..the sun is shining but as soon as you open the window..it's freezing. The frost that arrived during the night, still hasn't melted..so it seems the sun has come out more for effect than anything..lol. Saying that the big cats have gone out to play..whereas the kittens are still running round like maniacs..lol. At least the crashing has stopped.

Well I'm off for another coffee...yes I am an addict..lol and then the furniture is on the move...slowly I have to say. Hopefully I will find the parlour and bedroom again before the end of the weekend..fingers crossed. I hope that you all have a great weekend. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the following week. I have to say as I am sat here typing it is to the sound of crashing...the kittens are on a mad dash round the parlour..lol I will have to sort the chaos out after I've finished blogging. Now you can see how some of my days go on. The theme for this challenge is Bling, or  as normal you have the choice of going LOC. For all details of that, please read the rules on the challenge blog.
We are lucky enough to have sponsored for this challenge by the wonderful team over at SLS Lines.
Please do pop over to their shop and take a look at the wonderful designs that are available. It will come as no surprise to you that I just had to work with this cat. I have loved working with many of their designs...more than a few of their cats and they are all decorating my stairs wall.

The crashing sounds are not coming from my bathroom..lol. I have a bit of a thing for filling bare walls with pictures and the kittens seem to fascinated with a particular picture of a butterfly..everytime I go in, I find it swinging from being played with..lol.

For my card today, I coloured my image with my promarkers and then I blinged him up.If you look, he has jewels on his tail and in his ear and of course..on his collar. He has the same expression on his face that my cats would have if I decided to bling them. Mind you I have to say that there are many times when they seem to have been glittered. I sometimes look at them and they have an amazing twinkle due to me trying to contain the sparkly stuff..lol

Well the coffee is calling and to go with it today I have a little piece of coffee cake...more caffeine than normal. Hopefully it will give me enough energy to move the furniture round. I never managed to get it done yesterday..with the amount of pain I had and all the visitors, my hopes of getting things sorted. But today will be the day..hopefully. I'm hoping to do some sewing this weekend but need to move round again first. I will be back later with another design team make. So until then...take care and happy crafting.

Decoupage Delights....Vintage Lady

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. This card was made using Marlene..Fashion and Flowers. The image has two backing papers that match but I decided to use one of the fabulous floral background papers that are an extra bonus on this cd. As most of you know, I do love the vintage look..very Edwardian I think. There is something about the Edwardian age that I love. I get to use the ribbons, the pearls and the soft colours that just ring all my bells..lol. I hope that you will pop over to the Decoupage Delights face book page and take a look at all the other wonderful cd roms. They are all amazingly priced compared to most of the cds that are out there.

It is so very cold here in the mountains today. It's a day for the cats to stop in..the only ones to go out are Jeffrey and Sprout..the young boys. They will probably stay out until teatime. The others will all stay in and drive me mad..as usual.

I had a shopping delivery today..the driver was laughing about the cats and all the cat food that arrived. They all like to watch the food arrive..I think that they're just making sure..lol .I've put it all away..so I can feel virtuous now. I've got a pile of work to do...so the colouring pens will be out later. I 've got a pile of paper waiting for colour  to be added..nothing makes me happier. Sad I know but I do love to have about 5 images at a time on the go and flit from one to another depending what I feel like. As you can see..I have a very exciting life..lol

Well the coffee is calling and the need for caffeine is great today. I have been up since early but it seems to be one of those days where no near enough has been done. My plans for tomorrow are huge..it involves moving things round in the bedroom and moving some things out of the parlour and having a sort out. I have a new bed arriving any time soon and want to paint the walls before it arrives. Such plans ..it's a good job that new jars of coffee have arrived..lol So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

A Snowflakes Promise.....New Challenge

Here I am again...caffeine added..lol. This card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the following fortnight. The theme as always now is Anything Goes with an option of Spring. I have been amazed by all the wonderful creations we have had for previous challenges. I hope that you will pop over and take a look.

For this challenge we have been lucky enough to have been sponsored by the great team over at All Dressed Up. I just love their images..there is something so whimsical about them. I was lucky enough to pick my favourite to work with and of course I just had to pick this image of the cat. For this card, I just coloured the image with my promarkers..I just loved the large bow. I would love to put a ribbon on one of mine but it would only take a moment and then it would have been chewed to death. I was given a present by my friend Dotty and it came in a beautiful box with a fabulous ribbon on it. The next thing that I knew...the ribbon was on the other side of the room being carried proudly by Gannie..and he has not parted with it yet..lol

I do hope that you will pop over and take a look at all the other design team makes..they are all so talented and always create some magic with their work.

I can't believe that the day has flown so quickly. I seem to have hit the floor running..or at least my version of it..lol and don't seemed to have stopped and my list of things to do doesn't seem to have got any smaller. My next job is to make a couple of cards and then I have a pile of colouring for other projects. Hopefully that will be my quiet time. So I think that now I will go and top up on yet more caffeine and then to work. So until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.

JB Crafting Supplies...A Fairy Pocket

Today's design team make is something a little different for me. This is a hanging pocket which I made using this fabulous kit available from Julie over at JB-Crafting Supplies. For all details on how I made it..please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies blog. This is intended to sit on the back of my bedroom door to hold my scarf collection. At the moment, my scarves are suffering from kitten play. They like nothing better than swinging on them and if they can possibly have a good chew...all the better..lol. I have one scarf..brown with gold threads..sounds strange I know but I have had it since the early eighties and it has special memories. Well it now has a chew hole thanks to Gannie. I really enjoyed making this fairy pocket..everything for the design came on one strip..with instructions included and I just had to choose a backing fabric and get some interfacing and some wadded. I completed the whole thing in a couple of afternoons and loved every minute. I used to do a lot of sewing and haven't done any for ages but now the bug is back.

It's very cold here in the mountains today. There was a frost last night so it was really nippy and now even though the sun is shining it's still cold. Most of the cats have gone out and for once the kittens are having a nap. I just wish that they would have a nap at bedtime..lol. As I lie in bed..all I can hear is the thumping of little feet up and down stairs.

Well the coffee is calling as normal and I shall be back in a bit with another design team make. The cats have just started to come back in, bringing chaos with them...lol. I hope that the caffeine will help me to create some order..if not it will at least give me a little perk. So until after...take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery....On her travels

Here I am again with another design team make. This card has been made for the fabulous team over at Jiggery Makery. I just love this image. I began by colouring her with my promarkers and then cut her out. While I was making this card..a song..All around the world..kept going round and round my head..and it still is when I see this card. That's the reason that I decided to use the map as a backing paper..after all it doesn't matter how far friends are apart in miles..it doesn't matter in the great scheme of things.

I do hope that you will pop over to the Jiggery Makery facebook page and take a look at all the other fabulous makes that are there. The other members of the design team have created some wonderful projects and they are a wonderful source of inspiration.

It's still as cold as before and none have the cats have moved from their cosy places. The kittens however have decided that the time has come for a little quiet time..lol. You could not believe just how much noise 3 kittens can make. As I sit here I can see the three of them..they are all curled up together on the couch and look like three perfect little angels goodness only knows just how long it will last though.

Well the coffee is calling again and I'm wondering what to make for dinner. I may make an omelette..I have some mushrooms that need using and I'm hoping that I have some salad left in the fridge. Sounds like a plan. So I think I will have that caffeine hit and then I may do some hoovering. It's got to be done and seeing as I'm having an easy dinner it seems to be the perfect time. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center......Crazy Hair

Todays card is a design team make for the fabulous Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and the theme is Crazy Hair and will run for the next week. The rest of the design team have created some fantastic makes and obviously have had a lot of fun in the process. With my card.. I coloured the image with my promarkers and then added coloured pearls to the eye of the peacock feathers. I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this image.
We have been so lucky to have been sponsored by the fabulous Stitchy Bears. As always they are a wonderful source of designs and inspiration. I do hope that you will pop over and take a look.

It is just so cold today..I've actually put my cardigan on..lol. More than anything the trouble is the wind, plus the fact that my windows seals have given up . But all the cats are looking really cosy..they are all lying round the parlour, all curled up. The only ones not curled up are of course the kittens...they are racing around like the little nutters that they are..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be back with another design team make. So until then..take care and happy crafting

Decoupage Delights.....Vintage Dreaming

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. I have chosen to work with the fabulous cd of Marlene..Fashion and Flowers. I just love these vintage photographs. This card has been made using an 8x8 card. I took some gold mirri and layered the burgundy backing paper onto it. I also layered the image onto gold mirri and completed the decoupage of the rose. I also created a border using the mirri again and a small strip of the backing paper. Onto this border I added some cream velvet ribbons and some cream card candi. There are just so many wonderful images and backing papers on this cd, that it's hard to choose. This is a great cd to have in your crafting library and I can honestly say that it is one you will go back to time and time again. I hope that you will pop over to the facebook page of Decoupage Delights and take a look at all the cds that are available.

The weather today is still chilly but the wind has finally quietened down. Most of the large cats have all decided to go out. The only large ones that have stayed in are my two homebodies..Raven and Pinkie.I think the reason that they choose to stay in is that they are the nosiest of the bunch and are scared of missing anything. The kittens are all asleep..I'm not surprised because they were playing for most of the night. I have to admit to the urge to go and wake them up..or to just keep tapping them, as they do to me..lol. Simon is learning more and more off Jeffrey and has started to tap my face with his paw..just as Jeff does to me every morning. And Simon every talks in the same way and has always a comment to make on everything..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I have some cards to finish. I did make all the inserts yesterday, so today I only have to finish them all off and then they will be ready to post off. And then it will be down to sewing I think. Before I start sewing I will have to tidy up around my chair..after all the things that the kittens have played with have been brought to my feet..they are learning early to bring presents to me. Later on no doubt it will be mice and other creatures. I shall have to start bracing myself now I think..lol. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies.....Using Your Stash

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful JB-Crafting Supplies. I have made a number of cards (featured on their blog), and have made them using my stash. I was looking at my peeloff collection. For the card above I chose to use this lovely peeloff of a Chinese figure. I stuck the peeloff onto some white card and coloured the image with my promarkers. I also added some gold edged cherry blossom and a vase. I have coloured the figure in golds and reds as these are the colours of prosperity. To see more cards, please pop over to the JB-Crafting Supplies. While you're there, why not check out the wonderful range of crafting goodies that Julie can supply.

The wind is raging through and round the mountains today. Surprisingly the bigger cats have all decided to go out and run about in the wind. But don't think for a minute that it's quiet in the house. Three kittens racing about make more noise than you can believe..it's sounds as if there is a herd of wild creatures running around..lol. Nicademus has just come in to check that he hasn't missed any food that may have been given out.Even though it's not raining..it's so cold here today..the wind seems to be raging in a different direction than normal and is hammering the front of the house..it normally goes past the house, running in what seems to be a circle running round and round the valley floor. It can get so loud it sounds as if a train is going past the window and you can almost time it coming round again. But today is different. It's hitting the window all the time and I can honestly say it's bitterly cold. It's the sort of weather that my Grandfather would say..it's even too cold to snow. That expression sounded all wrong to me as a child but now I find myself saying the same thing...lol

I'm hoping to start some sewing tomorrow. I have done some but need to do some pressing. Yes, I know many of you have had a good laugh at the thought of me and an iron..but it's coming out of hiding tomorrow..lol. I'm working on a patchwork cover for the couch and have sewn quite a lot, which now need pressing. Also I'm hoping to begin another one..I do like to have more than one project on the go at the same time. As soon as I've got to a point there is something nice to share..I will. It can be a little trying when you're trying to sew on the machine and the kittens want to join in. As usual, they're just being nosey.

Well the coffee is calling and then I have to make some inserts for some cards..as my friends will know that's another thing that I dislike doing. Mind you thinking about it..I don't mind once I have begun..it's just the thought of doing it..lol. At least I always feel virtuous when I've finished..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery.....I need a Valentine

Here I am again with another design team make made for the wonderful Jiggery Makery. I thought that this lady would be the perfect card to send to your valentine. I would send it if I had someone but I don't..lol. I have given up on ever finding my soul mate...I think that I'm just too much for a normal male and I've definitely of an age where I just can't be bothered..lol. I think that I would find be nice all the time too much to handle. At least my cats don't mind what mood I'm in..as long as they get fed at regular intervals..they're happy..lol. And the other reason for sending this card would be the hope that I had a figure like the lady above..she would definitely have a valentine..probably waiting with chocs flowers and lots of other lovely things. I coloured this image with my promarkers and did enjoy deciding what colour her outfit. Why not pop over to the Jiggery Makery face book page and take a look at all the other wonderful creations that other members have made.

I'm still being harassed by the cats..they don't seem to want to give it up..lol.I'm going to be going downstairs in a minute to prepare dinner and then it can be ready to go later. I will be confusing the cats because they think the minute that I come back upstairs they think it's food time. I just thought it would be nice to go and cook it early and then perhaps later will do some colouring. I have a job lot of cards to make as well over the weekend..I like to have a pile of work for the weekend..sad I know but at least it keeps me busy.I have a friend calling later so I will have to have words with the cats about good behaviour...knowing as always that they won't listen to me.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to go down and bake. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and especially that you have a lovely Valentines Day. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.....New Challenge

Todays cards are design team makes for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the following week. The theme for this week is With Love. As usual you also have the option of going LOC..all the rules are on the blog.

So for my makes, I have been lucky enough to work with these fabulous designs from a new sponsor..Ching Chou Kuik. I just adore these two images and they involve some of my favourite things..the top one has books and a cat and the second has flowers especially poppies which are very special to me. I do hope that you will pop over to look at all the fabulous images she has created. There is something very special about them and I can only hope that I get to work with her work again soon.

As I'm writing this, I'm getting harassed by a group of my black cats. Raven, Jeffrey, Tankie and Simon have all decided that I must need help. I just wish that they would stop putting my caps lock on. The kittens are growing fast and are getting madder by the day. The things that they decided are perfect things to play with..never ceases to amaze me. A tin ashtray, a cotton reel,a piece of ribbon and a sheet of newspaper are causing such fun today. Who needs expensive cat toys I ask myself..lol
Well the coffee is calling and there is work to be done.I managed to do some sewing yesterday..despite the kittens trying to help. I've now got to do some pressing..I can't quite believe that I'm going to get the iron out..lol. I'm thinking of doing pasta for dinner tonight, as I still have some very fresh salad and just love salad with anything. I shall be back later with another design team make..but I do hope that you will pop over and join in the fun at Left of Center. So until later...take care and happy crafting

Decoupage Delights.....The Bow

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. Last night I was scanning through the disc...Marlene..Fashion and Flowers and noticed this wonderful image and just had to make a card with it. The reason I just had to do it was the size of her bow in her hair. It just made me smile. I think that there must have been a thing for huge bows in the generations before mine. I was raised by my Grandmother..who was raised as an Edwardian..so some of the things that she loved were from a previous age. Consequently I spent many a day with a huge bow in my hair..and I have many pictures to prove it..lol. My hair was regularly in ringlets..oh how I remember going to bed with my hair in rags..and there was always a fantastic ribbon. I was forever getting into trouble for losing them..lol.

On my card the image is from the cdrom but the backing paper is from my stash. There are some really wonderful backing papers on the cd, but I just wanted to share the thought with you than you can just use your favourite image with any backing paper that takes your fancy. In fact I have used a lot of the backing papers from the cd on other projects that I do. To me that's what having a cd library is all about..being able to dip in and out..whatever the time, whatever the need. And living where I do here in the mountains, the nearest craft shop would be a day out..lol.

I do hope that you will pop over to the Decoupage Delights facebook page and take a look at all the other cds that are available and those that are in the pipeline. I'm very excited about the next one that is due in the next couple of months. It features a lot of fantastic images for men's cards.

Well here in the mountains today..you need your vest on. It's so chilly. Thankfully there is no rain at the moment but goodness the socks are on. Not the Icelandic ones yet..I'm definitely saving them for 2 foot of snow..lol..they are just so pretty. All the cats are asleep and Simon has parked himself in my sewing basket. When he wakes up he is in for a shock..I'm going to move all my sewing stuff into a sewing basket with a lid. I will then turn the open basket into an official cat basket..I'll put some fleece in the bottom and then hopefully everyone will be happy.

Well the coffee is calling and then I've a couple of cards to finish for Friday.I have absolutely no idea what to make for dinner. I've lots in the freezer but no idea what I fancy.Hopefully something will pop into my head later. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

A Snowflakes Promise....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the following fortnight. The theme for this challenge is Anything goes or with a twist of love...after all Valentines Day is fast approaching.

We are lucky enough to have been sponsored for this challenge by the fabulous team over at Bugaboo Stamps. It was hard for me to pick a design with all the wonderful images available but then I spotted this one with the owls. Of course I had to colour them orange in memory of Henry...everywhere I look this month is coloured orange. I thought that this was such a simple happy design..if I was going to send a valentines...this would be it.

I'm finding it rather hard to type this blog as Simon is determined to sit on my left elbow and is padding as hard as he can and purring at the top of his lungs..lol. He is not being moved whatever I try. Ever since Jeffrey showed him the way to the bedroom, he has demanded a place on the bed every night and will not give his space up for a bigger cat. He has even (just like Jeffrey) taken up begging off the dog walker..requesting a bit of gravy bone.

Well the coffee is calling and then I need to measure the bathroom window...I'm going to make a panel for the window. I'm making it out of a thin cotton with some blue embroidery on it. I'm hoping to cover the window but that it will still let light in. The trouble with the window is that it is overlooked by next door and I don't want to give the lovely gentleman next door a bad shock every time I take a bath..lol. I still find it strange that I live in the middle of nowhere and yet my window on that side is directly opposite next doors. In a lot of ways it is worse on the other side of the cottage...my bedroom window looks out on a brick wall. But at least it means that my bedroom is dark...I've found in life that you have to count your blessings...no matter how strange. It's my favourite dinner tonight..fish, salad potatoes and salad...I'm looking forward to it already. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

JB-Crafting Supplies...Working through your stash.

Todays cards are design team makes for the wonderful company of JB-Crafting Supplies. Here in the mountains, the wind is raging and to me it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and craft. Ever since Christmas, I have been looking at my stash and trying to use items that I already have alongside new products. For my first card I have used a backing paper from a Christmas pad, a stamp (which has one of my favourite sayings on and some rubons that I must have had for at least 3 years. I used to hate rubons with a vengeance because I could never get them to work properly...but now technology has moved on and I have to say that these were a pleasure to use. For the card I matted and layered the saying onto some green and yellow card, used the rubons to make a frame and finally added a toning ribbon.
For the card below, I used this wonderful little pirate stamp by Nellie Snellen. All the background paper and card are from Christmas pads. I stamped the image with my memento inkpad and coloured it with my promarkers. I even added some gold cord from my Christmas stash, as it reminded me of the gold braid used on naval hats.I think that this would make a perfect card for a little boy...even some of my older friends who tell me that they always played as pirates when they were younger..lol
As I've said the wind is still raging...all the cats apart from Jeffrey are sat inside and keep going to the window, looking out and thinking to themselves..no way..lol. Jeffrey I know is probably visiting my friends shed..he has made himself a bed on some summer chair cushions and is well out of the weather. He has managed to scare the life out of her on a number of occasions, lurking in the dark.
I am hoping to do some sewing later on today and will be sharing the projects with you next week. I have a number of projects on the go...curtains for the bathroom, cushions and patchwork for the parlour, some home decor items and some clothes for myself. My worst fault I think is that I cannot work on just one thing at a time. I like to have a number on the go...I'm the same with card making...I tend to have 6 projects on the go at one time and then they're all finished together. I admit that I'm a little strange..lol

The shopping is due tomorrow..it is just so easy ordering online. And I've found that you're not tempted to overspend. I'm terrible if I'm out..if I thinks it's a bargain..it's in the basket. The biggest pleasure with online shopping is that all the catfood arrives and is stacked without me having to lug it into the trolley, out at the till, back in the trolley, into and out of the car and into the kitchen. It used to be like a weight lifting challenge..lol. I love the way that the cats all sit on the stairs and watch it arriving.

Well the coffee is calling and then I shall be getting the sewing machine out. If the kittens are asleep..lol. It's an easy dinner tonight..fish fingers and homemade chips I think. Providing that the power doesn't go off with all the wind that's still raging. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting

Gruffies and Guests...A Splash of Orange for Henry

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful team over at Gruffies and Guests. For me this is a very special challenge. The theme for the next month is A Splash of Orange for Henry. I was lucky enough to be able to sponsor this challenge and chose to do this in Henry's memory. As most of you know Henry passed two years ago and most of you have followed my journey on coming to terms with this and my continuing to create cards in his Memory. Henry loved the fact that I made cards, blogged and tried to share my love of all things creative with as many people as I can. I have been blessed that I have made many new friends on this journey. Why orange you may ask..well when Henry passed, at his funeral everyone wore something orange to honour his life, and even now friends buy me orange things to remember him. I can't say that things have got easier..they've just become different.Everyday is still about learning to live with my loss and the fact that he has left such a hole in my life, but I have learnt that counting my blessings every day has helped. My cats have also helped..I have to keep it all together to make sure that they are cared for...and I have to say that on days when I don't think I can smile..they make me laugh.

The rest of the team over at Gruffies and Guests have been so supportive in difficult times and have for this months challenge produced some amazing cards. I do hope that you will pop over to the blog and take a look. I can only hope that they realise just how much this challenge means to me and how much their work is appreciated.

I am offering a prize for this challenge..it will be a £10 voucher to spend at Joanna Sheen's shop. There is so much to choose from and seeing that it was Joanna that first showed me the delight of all things House Mouse..I thought that it would be appropriate.

I'm so excited today with the challenge beginning and also I'm looking forward to my friend Dotty coming over. All the animals will be getting excited...they love her and she always ends up being covered in cats..lol. At the moment all the kittens are fast asleep..but it won't last for long..lol. They caused absolute chaos during the night..all my earrings were hanging in a frame and now half have disappeared..all over the house no doubt. I was woken by the tinkling of the beads and 3 happy little kittens..lol

Well the coffee is calling and then I'll be waiting for my visitor. I hope that you all will have a wonderful weekend. So, until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Jiggery Makery......Coffee, Tea or Me

Here I am again with a new design team make for the wonderful company of Jiggery Makery. I just adore this image. And it always makes me think of the terribly funny books of the 60's...the coffee tea or me collection about the first air stewardesses. I loved the books..they always made me laugh out loud and I have always thought that it was such a funny title...perfect to use for the person in your life. I have to say on previous relationships, they would have probably answered.I'll have a coffee..thanks...lol.

For this card, I used my promarkers to colour the image and added some small tapestry stamps to decorate the teacup. One of the great things about this image is the fact that because the cup comes undecorated..you can really personalise it to suit your mood. There are so many ways that you could decorate it..you could even put the name of your special person on it.

The kittens are in so much trouble..lol. As I'm sat here writing, they have knocked over one of my pen pots and are now spreading them all over the parlour floor. Shouting has made not the slightest difference..lol..I will just have to pick them all up when I've finished. I am hoping to finish a lot of work today and then I intend to do some sewing over the weekend. Bathroom curtains are calling and of course I need to finish the patch rats for the cats.I have a long list of sewing to do..so we'll see how I get on.

Well the coffee is calling again and then it will probably be time to think about dinner...we are having quiche tonight..probably with mashed potatoes and vegetables. For tomorrow we are having a three bird roast, which has sat in the freezer since Christmas. It should do at least 2 nights..I'm hungry just thinking about it..lol. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next week. The theme for this challenge is Things with Wings.
We are lucky this week to have been sponsored by the fabulous Aurora Wings. I chose to work with this fabulous image of the elf with the barn owl. As most of you know, I have a thing for owls. I loved working with this image and have coloured it using my promarkers. There are so many wonderful images available at Aurora Wings...why not pop over and take a look.
The wind is raging here in the mountains today. Most of the cats have decided that the best place to be is in the cottage.I was quite shocked yesterday to receive an amazing bouquet of flowers through the post. It was from Virgo mans family. It was so kind of them. My friends know how much I love flowers and I have been lucky enough to have received three bouquets this week. One of tulips..red and orange in memory of Henry, one of orange roses also in memory of Henry and now the flowers yesterday..which are purple and yellow iris. I feel very lucky and very blessed with amazing friends.
Well the coffee is calling and I shall be back with another design team make later. I hope that the weather is being kinder to you wherever you are. So until later...take care and happy crafting.
