Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center.....New Challenge... For the boys

Todays creation is my first for a new design team...Left of Center. I am so excited to become part of this team..there are some fabulous artists on the team and because of the varied challenges, it gives me a chance to let my wilder side out.
For my first challenge I have been lucky enough to work with  the wonderful artwork of Rick St. Dennis. The theme is For the boys and as I've just said we are lucky to have been sponsored by Rick St Dennis. Below is a link to his digi shop, so you will be able to have a look around all the fabulous designs that are available.

I hope you will find the time to pop over and take a look. There is some fabulous artwork available..some of it has just taken my breath away and is a constant source of inspiration.

For my canvas, I began by colouring the image which is called Chicago.( On the challenge blog, there is another canvas I have done which is called wiTche Burlesque.).I coloured the image with my promarkers. The canvas itself I painted using my H20s. I then added the quote which I thought was just perfect for the image. It also brings to mind another quote which involved a purple hat..basically it was saying that we only get the one life and to enjoy to the best we can, no matter what our age.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and I'm waiting for a friend to arrive. All my cats have left home..so I probably won't see them until either the weather changes or their tummies start to rumble..lol. They will probably be brought home by their tummies first. I always think that they are scared of missing something.

Well the coffee is calling and there is lots to be done. I hope that you will take the time to take a look at the Left of Center Challenge and maybe enter a work of your own. Remember the theme is For the Boys..a chance to stretch your crafting wings...above all..have some fun. So until tomorrow, take care and happy crafting.
