Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Decoupage Delights...Oh for that hat!

`Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. This has to be one of my favourite images from their 8x8 collection on their forthcoming vintage cd. The whole image has been decoupaged and it really is a lovely gentle image. For embellishment I have used some diecut rose leaves and trailing ivy. I cut them all in white and then coloured them with my promarkers. The rose embellishments are fabric ones that I also coloured to match in with the design. I just love the large floral hat in the image..I keep waiting for someone to get married so that I can have a good reason to buy one...lol.

The weather here in the mountains has taken a turn for the worse and it's now blowing a hooley and tipping it down. All the cats are sat around me, looking out of the window thinking that they're not going out...I have to say that I do feel a little crowded..there are 6 just sitting on the wings of my chair..lol. My friend came in the other night when they were all sat in a similar way and said 'Oh my God..it looks like something from an Alfred Hitchcock movie'..lol. Jeffrey is still not very well and is now being hounded by the magpies. When he first went out this morning..they arrived in the tree in the front garden and were both complaining at him. It scared him to death and he ran back in again. He then waited until they had left until he braved the outside world again. I hope that he has learnt his lesson. To be fair to the magpies..it was only because they are nesting and who can blame them for protecting their nest. They are just so brave..and it seems that they are also very clever..to follow him home.

Well the coffee is calling and I have a lot of wet canvases which I will have to put somewhere out of the cats way...too many of my canvases are decorated with paw prints..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.
