Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Jiggery Makery.....Flower Power.

Here I am again. Caffeine has now been added..so I'm smiling..lol. The card above is a design team make for the wonderful Jiggery Makery. As most of you know I just love to create the outfits for the fabulous pin up ladies of Jiggery Makery. This outfit was inspired by a memory of an outfit that I had when I was younger. The skirt was covered in embroidered flowers. They created a thick border at the bottom and drifted upwards to single blooms. It was bought for me from Spain and I wore it until it literally fell to bits. I can remember the feel of the embroidered material..it was quite heavy but hung beautifully. So with all that in mind I created this outfit. I hunted some small flower stamps and created the pattern. I then coloured them with my promarkers.I smile when I look at it because of the memories of days when I wore my skirt. People always commented on it and I felt all dressed up when I wore it. It is hard to think now just how much work it must have taken to embroider the skirt. I think it was so popular in Spain because of the bright colours that were placed onto the black base material.

So if you fancy recreating a favourite outfit...have a look through all the wonderful images that have been created by the very talented Adele over at Jiggery Makery. Every time I look through the images I find one that will inspire a memory..so I have lots in the pipework. I've never really been a girly girl but working with these images allows my girly side to fight through..lol.

Well it's time to have another coffee. I'm aiming to have a sinful dinner tonight. I'm going to have sausage roll and homemade chips. I'm really looking forward to it..and I think that it's not too sinful really seeing that I've had salad and fish for the past fortnight. My diet seems to be changing...I'm eating less and less meat..being obsessed with fish lately...and I have to admit to spinach as well. It's a wonder that I haven't turned into Popeye, with all the spinach I get through..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

Left of Center.....New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next week. The theme for this week is dry/wet embossing. As usual, you have the option of going LOC...for all details, please check out the LOC blog.
For this weeks challenge, we are so lucky to have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at The East Wind. I have been so blessed to work with many of their images and just love them. For today's card I layered lots of pieces of coloured dry embossing onto some card mats. I then layered them onto the card and added the image of the girl to the card. She was coloured with my promarkers. She actually reminds me of one of my friends..Gorgeous..I think it's probably the hair..I don't know really but the minute I saw this I thought of her..and the fact that she spends a long time travelling between university and home. On this train of thought was how I came up with the sentiment as well. When you're crafting you never know where it will take you..lol. I hope that you will pop over to The East Wind and take a look at the images..you never know where they will take you.

I'm definitely better than I was the other day. Thank you all so much for your messages and support. You have all been on this journey with me..and have seen the ups and downs. I have now got my big girl pants on and am trying to be positive.I'm still feeling a little ill but no doubt that as well will pass. The cats are all in and out today...Milky is driving me mad..lol..she must have been in and out about ten times in the last hour..I think she is scared of missing something. I let her out and about 5 minutes later she is on the windowsill crying to come in. The kittens are growing so fast..I shall have to take a photo of them. The only thing that I won't be able to capture is the amount of attitude that they all have..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I shall be back with another design team make before BT decide not to play. I'm also going to hoover the parlour later...just to drive the kittens mad..lol..Simon runs off and glares at me but Nosey and Gannie chase the nozzle and try to save their treasures from disappearing..it seems we can very upset about a piece of string..lol. So until later...take care and happy crafting.
