Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Snowflakes Promise...New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next fortnight. The theme for this challenge is Winter..so the perfect place to enter all your fabulous Christmas cards, as well as any other winter inspired pieces of work. I so love seeing all the amazing creations. We are so blessed that the fantastic Rick St. Dennis has sponsored this challenge..and I just loved the image I've been lucky enough to work with. To know more about Rick and the different images that the team used, please check out the Snowflakes Promise blog. Over at Ricks shop you are guaranteed to find an image that you will love..I always have such a time trying to decide what to work with.

Here in the mountains it's a very cold day..most of the cats are in and out like yo yos. I don't think that Gannie has stopped complaining since he got up..lol. He really doesn't understand or like the frost. Everywhere was covered with frost this morning and there are still places that haven't defrosted in days. Sprout has turned into a little homebody and has been sat on the wing of my chair all day. It was delivery today for the cat food and I felt so sorry for the delivery driver. They all sat around and watched his every move. And they got quite a surprise...Tesco had sent a Christmas cracker containing cat treats. It seems that it something they are doing for cat and dog owners online. How nice a surprise....I have had to put it away as it didn't take long for Milky to realise that there was something catty inside..lol. The delivery driver was lovely as well and was quite taken with Jeffrey..he just couldn't believe the size of him and how friendly the rest of the cats were. I had to ask him to check the van for any nosey cats though..it's always better to be on the safe side...I don't any of them going on any trips out of the village without me..lol.

Well the coffee is calling and then I have a birthday card to make..it will make a nice change for an hour. It's my favourite dinner again tonight..fish, salad and potatoes...everyone usually has something that never gets old and always is enjoyable..and I'm afraid that tonight's dinner is my go to comfort food. My other comfort foods are shepherds pie, fish pie and roast lamb dinner. They all seem to be all old fashioned dinners. They were all meals that my Grandmother made and I suppose that's part of their appeal.Anyway, I'm off to decide on an image for the birthday card..so until next time...take care and happy crafting.
