Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center...New Challenge and 31 Days of Halloween...Day 16

Today's page is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the coming week. The theme for this weeks challenge is Halloween..so it's the perfect place to share all your Halloween creations. It was that thought that made it also perfect to join in with the wonderful 31 days challenge. I just loved this image of the witch and her cat. It came from our fabulous sponsor...Sami Stamps. I painted the image using my inktense pencils. I just love the way that the lines in the image just flow/

The sky is a perfect blue today here in the mountains today but I have to say it's really cold. I'm sat here with my winter blanket on my legs and a cat on top..lol. Milky has decided that she is having the prime spot today and because of that Raven is in the middle of a good sulk. With Milky on my legs..it's like having a living hot water bottle..she is radiating a lot of heat..lol. All the others are outside..no doubt causing chaos. When I got up this morning, all the cats were standing around in the parlour demanding their breakfasts. You can always tell when it's a little colder...their food intake increases with the decrease in temperature...lol. One of the Tesco delivery men absolutely loves my tribe and when he knows that he's bringing my delivery, he always brings them a bag of treats..bless him. The only trouble with that is that the rest of the delivery men get looked at in disgust.

Well the coffee is calling and I hope that it perks me up a bit. I seem so tired today for whatever reason. I'm not normally like this..perhaps it's just that Sunday feeling..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.

  1. Our weather has turned warm. Going
to break a record for heat tomorrow.
    I don't mind - I love the hot.
My Bear always snarled at the UPS man
when he came but the minute she went
outside she was loving him. She
would even bark when the truck went
down the street and didn't stop.
    Miss all the noise.
    thanks for sharing.
