Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center.....New Challenge

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge is due to begin later but due to the performance of BT and my internet connection, I thought it was better to do it now and ensure that I can publish the blog. Later in the day you can never guarantee being able to get online. It's one of the things that you have to put up with living in these mountains. This challenge will run for the next week.

The theme for this challenge is Tic Tac Toe and I have included the grid below. You can pick which line to go with down, across or diagonally. For my card I have used Purple, Black and Pink. As always you have the option of going LOC. For all the details of that..please pop over to the LOC blog.

We are so lucky this week to have 2 sponsors...Art by Miran and The Goblyn Workshop. For my make I have chosen to work with this pretty image from Art by Miran. It is quite different from my usual choice but I just thought it was such a pretty image.

For my design team make, I chose to colour the image with my promarkers. As I'm writing this Jeffrey is sat directly opposite me and he still has a lot to say about his injured leg. It is healing very well and Jeffrey is definitely needing some extra cuddles. All the rest of the cats are outside, stretched out on the studio roof. I'm watching the athletics as I'm writing this. I do so admire the athletes..I've never been any good at any thing like that. When I was much much younger..in the days before my accident..I did enjoy playing netball, hockey and tennis. My friend and I were members of a tennis club..but I do seem to remember that we liked the boys as much as we enjoyed the tennis..lol It seems like a different life now looking back...and I suppose it was. I have to count my blessings though...the wheelchair gives me a type of freedom and I'm happy with that.

I am planning to do some messy crafting this afternoon and I can't wait. All the inks and brushes will be coming out...I wonder what the cats will do to help? I've just watched the pole vault and goodness me the nerve it must take to hurl yourself into mid air.I just wonder when do they get the urge and think to themselves I'm going to grab this pole and fling myself off into the air..lol? It never ceases to make me cringe but I do so love it.

Well the coffee is calling and then with caffeine in my system it will be time to get messy. Some days there is nothing I like better than a play with my inks. I will be back tomorrow with another design team make. So until then...take care and happy crafting.
