Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Snowflakes Promise.........New Challenge

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at A Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next fortnight. The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes and the prize is a £10 voucher from the Joanna Sheen online Shop.

For my card, I really enjoyed having a good play. The first thing I used was this wonderful fish stamp which my friend Sunshine brought me back from a holiday that she had in India. I stamped the fish three times in a row and coloured it with my distress inks. The background has also been created using my distress inks. I brushed the ink onto some gloss card and then stencilled the bubbles over the top.I then layered some black and white card. The fish strip I gave a curve to..just to add a little more shape.

The weather here in the mountains is still gorgeous..and all the cats are outside sunning themselves. Gannie has chosen a neighbours garden as his favourite sun spot...luckily for him it is a holiday home and no one is there to disturb his little bit of peace. I've calmed down now about the kittens going out but I'm glad to say that they all come home for bedtime. In fact they think that my ed is the only place to be.

I was intending to blog yesterday but BT had other ideas. I didn't manage to get online until about 10.30 p.m. and by then I'd lost the will...lol. If I had the energy I would complain but I'm so sick of the lies, arguments and down right rudeness of the operators who, aren't even in this country, reading from a script that I don't seem to have any fight left..at the moment. The number of people that have messaged me, telling me of the horrible times that they have with BT..I wish there was someone working for BT who actually cared about their service rather than their profits.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to do some work. I've just looked out of the window at the mountains and can see that they have changed colour. There is now a purple haze over the mountain side..the bluebells have just come out. It looks as if a watercolour artist has swiped their brush over the mountain side, leaving a trail of purple. Just beautiful. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.
