Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. SLS Lines....New Releases

Today's cards are design team makes for the wonderful team over at SLS Lines. Every month I will be sharing some of the new releases that are due to become available in the SLS shop. For my first one I chose this one of the runaway bride. I love the movement in the image. Then I of course had to think of the reason why she was running away from the wedding..and I came up with the theory that she loved her cat more than her proposed groom..lol. My cats will be very approving of this theory.

For the second make, I chose this wonderful image of the slightly deranged knitter...and I know a few of them..lol. As with crafting, a lot of my friends also knit and sew..and it is their way of relaxing, of getting away from the daily stresses. Both images were coloured with my promarkers. I hope that you will pop over to the SLS Lines blog and take a look at all the wonderful inspirational posts created by the other members of the team. I love looking at other peoples work and getting a little glimpse of how they created their work.

How are you all coping in the hot weather? Here in the mountains it has been so hot, without any breeze and I can tell you that being a woman of a certain age and all this heat is not a good thing..lol. My legs are suffering, swelling because of the heat..so I'm being well behaved and keeping them up, doing slight exercises trying to keep the swelling down.Luckily I have had lots of work come in..so I'll be occupied over the weekend. Some fantastic designs have arrived from SLS.so I will be sharing them with you over the next few weeks.

Well the coffee would be calling if I had any..lol. I ran out last night..a major oh no in my house. My friend is picking some up for me tonight..so until then I'm just keeping drinking lemon squash and cold tea. I will be back later with more design team makes...so until then..take care and happy crafting.
